There has been much confusion over the dating of the events depicted in the novel Star Wars: The Old Republic: Fatal Alliance. While the chronology of Star Wars literature in the inside of the book indicates that the events take place in 3,650 BBY, the actual novel seems to indicate otherwise. A much more considerable length of time appears to have passed, especially if you examine Satele Shan's progression from Threat of Peace to Fatal Alliance. In addition, in this thread, Leland Chee confirms that the book does not take place in that year.

With that taken into consideration, we will be using the date provided by the novel itself: c. 3643 BBY. On page 413 of the epilogue, Jet Nebula specifically says that the Republic was almost defeated by the Sith and Mandalorians around a decade prior. The Treaty of Coruscant and Sacking of Coruscant occured in 3653 BBY, making around ten years later c. 3643 BBY. If you have any questions or comments on the matter, please state them below. • So an "almost defeat" by the Mandalorians is ignored, instead basing the date on the Sith-led Sacking of Coruscant? Imperators II 19:45, March 3, 2011 (UTC)
    • He's speaking of the Sith and the Mandalorians as a single side, as they were allies against the Republic from 3667 BBY until the end of the war. I imagine that you're thinking that Nebula is talking about two different instances (the Blockade of the Hydian Way and the Sacking of Coruscant), but that doesn't make very much sense in context. Given that the Mandalorians and the Sith both participated in efforts to destroy the Republic up until 3653 BBY, it stands to reason that this is the date that Nebula is referencing. • Hmmm...just curious - which source states that the Mandalorians continued to collaborate with the Sith up until 3653 BBY? (I hope the "Mandalorians" is not meant by Shae Vizla :P ) Imperators II 20:45, March 3, 2011 (UTC)
        • Shae Vizla would be an example, yes, but for others look to Fatal Alliance, which states that the Mandalorians and Sith were active allies up until the Treaty, and to Mandalore's Holonet entry, which states that the Empire and Mandalorians are still allied during the Cold War. • My bad. I'll have to look up the Fatal Alliance. As for Vizla, she could still be a renegade or something? And that Mandalore the Vindicated became allied to the Sith again at some point during the Cold War doesn't mean the previous Mandalore still collaborated with the Sith after the Blockade, does it? Imperators II 20:45, March 3, 2011 (UTC)
              • "Mandalorians remain cautious, well-paid allies of the Empire." I would say that the "remain" there indicates that there has been no major change in their diplomatic stance with the Empire. And calling Vizla a renegade with no particular reason to believe as much is speculation. At present, it's safest to say Fatal Alliance occurred around ten years after the Sacking of Coruscant, given the dialogue and its context, plus the fact that around doesn't preclude the possibility of the events occuring several years prior.
