Forums > Senate Hall archive > How to link to Wikipedia

Hi. I'm just thinking, is there an easy way to link to the all glourious Wikipedia. For example for Tunisia I want there to be an article about it here, but it might be nice to have a template link somewhere. Thanks --Steinninn 15:22, 15 February 2007 (UTC)

• Use the []. Then, what I do is go to that page on Wikipedia and copy the address, then paste it. See [ Tunisia]. For Tunisia it'd be Tunisia. I believe there's an easier way to do it but I have trouble with external links. Chack Jadson 15:30, 15 February 2007 (UTC)
• Display name. So for Tunisia, you'd put Tunisia to get Tunisia - \\Captain Kwenn// Ahoy! 15:43, 15 February 2007 (UTC)
• Listen to Kwenn, not Chack Jadson. - Sikon 15:58, 15 February 2007 (UTC)
• Thanks. I was thinking about a link on the top or bottom of the page saying "You can also read about Tunisia at Wikipedia". Thanks anyway --Steinninn 16:46, 15 February 2007 (UTC)
• For that, you would use the WP template like so: Tunisia. There's also Wikipedia link, in case the article name and the text you want displayed are different. And for piped wikipedia links, you can just type Tunisia with a pipe at the end, and it will only display stuff after the colon. —Xwing328(Talk) 17:33, 15 February 2007 (UTC)
