Chewbacca is in a Cloud City prison cell. The stark room is flooded with hot light. To add to Chewie's misery, a high-pitched whistle screeches loudly. Chewie is going mad. He hits the wall with giant fists as he paces back and forth across the cell floor. The upper lights go off abruptly.
So it was probably just a way to torture him, just as they used that hot contraption against Han. I'd imagine it's something akin to a dog whistle, but far worse. -- Ozzel 05:34, 9 February 2008 (UTC)
No, actually the high pitched noise was subduing him and calming him.Musclebob BuffPants 06:21, 9 February 2008 (UTC)
The prison cell was flooded with hot, blinding light that seared his sensitive Wookiee eyes...And to add to his misery, a high-pitched whistle blared into the cubicle, tormenting his keen sense of hearing.
Yeah, that's even clearer. (Not quite sure what Musclebob's source is...). -- Ozzel 21:52, 9 February 2008 (UTC)
So what was is it, how was it created? (and i think it was hurting him then calming him)
I'm not sure any source ever explains definitively what the noise is. Each person received their own unique brand of torture: Solo's torture rack; Chewie's alarms; C-3PO blasted to pieces; and I seem to remember somewhere saying Leia received some sort of torture...the novelization describes her as entering the cell looking "tired and disheveled." They were being contained in a security cell, so I'm guessing it was some kind of device to wear down prisoners. And, I think Musclebob's statement was just a poor attempt at witty sarcasm. I found info on Chewie on wookieepdia. The source might not bee 90-100%, but at least it is a source.Musclebob BuffPants 06:13, 10 February 2008 (UTC)
Ah, since that's the case, I have corrected Chewbacca's article to reflect what the novelization says. -- Ozzel 07:07, 11 February 2008 (UTC)
