  • I think it would be nice and extremely helpful if something could be added to the Main Page, similar to the way News is updated, that would announce to the community new policy updates as they come into/fall out of effect. A prime example would be the change of "Galaxy" to "galaxy". Admittedly, I don't often read the Forum pages, nor do I keep up with all the new changes that take place at the Mofferences, so I am generally unaware of new changes as they are made. This is my fault, I understand, but I don't think I'm the only one here. Now, what is prompting me to write this is my ignorance over the "Galaxy" matter. I've apparently been mistakenly changing/reverting people's edits when it comes to the word "galaxy," much to my own ignorance, and I've run into some heated hostility because of this. I've been warned and accused of vandalism, when I simply didn't know any better. Again, I udnerstand this is pretty much my own fault for not reading up on policy changes, but how much easier would it be to just open up the Main Page and see this all nicely laid out for us?     • Yes, I've thought about something like this for some time (but never done anything about it, obviously). I don't know that the Main Page is the place for it, since it usually won't concern the average reader. But, I don't know, maybe something like simply a [[Wookieepedia:Policy changes]] page or something to keep track of stuff? Maybe stick it in the Community Portal?   • I ask that each month a short "newsletter" be added to tell of new policies. This update could have a link to it sent to each users' talk page thus informing him/her/it. Karohalva 16:05, 26 September 2007 (UTC)
  • Actually, I like the newsletter idea. Except I would say it could be under Wookiepedia:Newsletter and each month when it is updated, for a couple days it could go in the notices up top (where the spoilers and wookieecast are currently mentioned). We could also do like the Mofference page and have a list at the bottom of suggested topics to be mentioned in the next issue. Wildyoda 20:25, 26 September 2007 (UTC)

  • What about the notices at the top of the pages? Like what we had for the Inferno spoilers? Put a link on there to the Policy and Consensus updates each time major changes are made. Hobbes15(Tiger Headquarters) 05:24, 10 October 2007 (UTC)
