For some reason, Inq has not been classified as a new namespace and is clogging up New Pages with Inquistorius vote pages. This will affect our true number of new articles and becomes inaccurate unless the namespace is identified as non-article. Can we get someone to fix this? -- Riffsyphon1024 11:13, 11 February 2007 (UTC)

  • Why wasn't it put in the Wookieepedia: or Forum: namespaces to begin with, again? —Silly Dan (talk) 14:35, 11 February 2007 (UTC)
    • It was put on Forum originally, but they kept on interfering with actual Forum articles. If you guys want, we can look into making a namespace just for it. —Xwing328(Talk) 16:37, 11 February 2007 (UTC)
      • It will take a beuracrat knowing how to edit LocalSettings.php to add a new namespace. The main thing that would have to be fixed in that file is the variable $wgExtraNamespaces. It's current value is probably $wgExtraNamespaces = array(100 => "Forum", 101 => Forum_Talk"); and I believe it should be replaced with $wgExtraNamespaces = array(100 => "Forum", 101 => Forum_Talk", 102 => "Inq", 103 => "Inq_Talk"); There are a few other tiny things to let it be searchable, etc. —Xwing328(Talk) 16:56, 11 February 2007 (UTC)
  • OK, talked to some staff...if we want to make a custom namespace, a "tech staff" person over at wikia has to do it. We are limited to three custom namespaces (in addition to talk namespaces for each). So, do we want a vote for this? Move to CT?

Voting[]

Inq namespace[]

A completely new custom namespace for Inquisitorius pages.

  8. As much as I want to save our three namespaces like timeouts in a football game, this will present the least amount of problems in the short term. -- Riffsyphon1024 03:13, 12 February 2007 (UTC)

Inquisitorius namespace[]

Like above, but with the full name.

Pages at Forum:Inq:ArticleName[]

This option will leave articles in the Forum namespace, but will add Inq: to prevent interference with other Forum articles.

  2. This shouldn't exist in the first place, so if anything, let's not validate it via a custom namespace. — SparqMan Talk 01:12, 12 February 2007 (UTC)
  3. This seems OK, I guess. -Fnlayson 01:18, 12 February 2007 (UTC)

  5. If we're limited to three extra namespaces, and we're going to be setting up committees for various functions in the future like we've done with the Inquisitorius, this will make sure they're all on equal footing instead of the Inq having special treatment in the form of its own namespace. jSarek 03:10, 12 February 2007 (UTC)

Pages at ArticleName/Inquisitorius[]

This option will leave pages in the (Main) namespace, as a subpage of the article under review. They are counted as actual articles under this option.

Keep at Inq:ArticleName[]

This is where the pages currently are, under a "pseudo-namespace" in the (Main) namespace. They are counted as actual articles under this option.
