Why exactly did the Galaxy switch from using Slug Throwers to Blasters? Cause it sure seems like the Slugs are better. Cheaper, deadly, durable, can be silenced, there's no telling where the blast is coming from. Thanks The Awesome X!

I read it again. I also read the talk page. Nothing about what I'm asking. Can Jedi deflect the slugs? I just think that the slug throwers would be much better than blaster rifles. Please don't ban me from this site or forum. I'm just trying to get a question answered that isn't on any of the pages. The Awesome X! OK never mind. I saw an old Knowledge Bank post that is closed and it talked about this. I guess I just wanna know why they aren't used very often and if Jedi/Sith/Force Users can deflect the slugs.

• A little bit under halfway down the second paragraph in the "Features" section: "For example, during the days of the Galactic Republic, mercenaries fearing an intervention by Jedi Knights used rapid-fire slugthrowers that were impossible to completely deflect, unlike blaster bolts" Use Ctrl+F when looking for something if need be, it makes things much easier. —NAYAYEN 00:16, February 27, 2012 (UTC)

I remember reading that slugthrowers were phased out also because armor that was lighter and more durable, ie Stormtrooper armor, began to become more prevelant throughout the galaxy--CT-1987 13:54, February 28, 2012 (UTC)
