It has, in the past, been understood that bowcasters couldn't be wielded by most humans--too heavy.
Clearly episode VII shows this assumption to be in error. Han Solo was older in the movie, yet lofted it quite easily and fired it accurately. Even the entry here on bowcasters is in error on this. It is an assumption that episode VII has shown to not be the case. —Unsigned comment byCjuutech (talk • contribs).
Return of the Jedi: Beware the Power of the Dark Side! (an official, canon source) says otherwise. The book states few humans can properly use one; this does not mean all humans can't. Besides, Han Solo is one-in-a-million. If anyone could use a bowcaster, it'd be him. What were his odds of surviving that asteroid field or the nighttime of Hoth?—Never tell him the odds. Han Solo is the honey badger of Star Wars. Cwedin(talk) 06:52, December 23, 2015 (UTC)
