Four-part question:
Can force sensitives evade/dodge bullets?
Are slugs faster than blaster bolts? We can see blaster bolts.
What are speed feats performed by Jedi?
Is the force Unleashed canon consistant with the Clone Wars miniseries?
I'm arguing with a friend over who would win in a fight, Dante or Starkiller. Dante could catch bullets, so he contends that jedi's can't block against bullets, since they are faster than blaster bolts. But in Jedi Academy:Outcast, you could use your lightsaber to rebel imperial heavy repeaters, slugthrowers. Are there any examples of
1) Yes, though there are apparently no bullets in Star Wars.
2) That is unknown though as you can see blaster bolts, I think a bullet may be faster, however the bolt is bigger so that might be why they are visible.
3)Could you define speed feats? If you mean speeding themselves up with the Force, yes they can do that though it is not as simplistic as that.
4) TFU and the CW miniseries are barely consistant with canon overall, let alone with each other.
A lightsaber would be able to disintegrate a bullet, and with Force augmentation, a Jedi could catch a bullet easily as what actually happens is that the Jedi slows what happens around them with their mind but can still move at normal speed. And Sparda is not made from a lightsaber resistant material such as cortosis. Also, if the Jedi had a blaster, I doubt Dante would try catching them with is hand directly in front of his face. Haha, cool. Thanks! By speed feats, I mean things Jedi's/Sith have done using force speed (mace windu in clone wars, for example). I tried using the example of Mace Windu in the Clone Wars miniseries (2003) but he contends that its non-canon and that Mace never did that. Thanks again! - K
The Clone Wars Microseries is canon, so it did happen. DarthDragon164Dragon's Lair 02:06, 8 December 2008 (UTC)
I said they did, he asked if it and TFU meshed together and they really don't, at least not while remaining even faintly comprehnsible.NaruHina Talk 03:09, 8 December 2008 (UTC)
In Star Wars RPG, there are indeed slugthrowers. These use bullet ammunition. The reason Blaster bolts are visible is because it might be a little odd playing something like laser tag, with actual death as a result of being hit. Make sense? You can't actually see a theoretical blaster bolt, as this is speeding light. Plasma, (the material a lightsaber blade is made of) is able to bend the light, and even deflect it, with the right motion and training. Jaygo Katarr 15:09, 8 December 2008 (UTC)
Lightsabers can not deflect slugthrower ammunition. When a lightsaber impacts a slug, the Jedi/Sith gets a face full of melted lead or shrapnel in their face. As seen on the Slugthrower page:
'or example, during the days of the Galactic Republic, mercenaries fearing an intervention by Jedi Knights used rapid-fire slugthrowers that were impossible to deflect, unlike blaster bolts.'
--65.164.40.107 16:52, 12 December 2008 (UTC) I think the lightsaber would melt the bullet, then the molten metal would splash onto the jedi
Aparently some slug throwers still encased their shot in energy like the bowcaster but a straight out bullet would evaporate from the heat so they maybe would not be hit by shrapnel.
oh and your second question when fired from a minigun you can see the tracers going through the air so idk if bullets are faster.
- Please sign your name with four tildes (~) and please let this resolved question die, we have established that slugthower rounds cannot be deflected by lightsabers and slugthowers shoot bullets. NaruHina Talk 02:21, 10 January 2009 (UTC)
A) You could disintegrate a slug, if it's far enough from you the plasma from the slug could bloom and be rendered harmless. B) Tusken raiders use slug throwers in Phantom Menace, so the weapon is cannon. C) Blasters are deflected when the magnetically contained plasma bolt hits the force field containing the lightsaber's own plasma. D) Normal powered Jedi could only predict the actions of a shooter to intercept the slug where a blaster bolt might allow visual deflection. 171.159.64.10 14:11, October 29, 2015 (UTC)
