I've been searching for a while now, and I have been unable to find out if clone troopers can get promoted. The only time I've found anything close to an answer is in the Clone Wars, and I'd like a slightly less... controversial source. If anyone finds anything it would be greatly appreciated.
In Rookies, and in its sequels, Echo and Fives were promoted from basic clone troopers to ARC Troopers. Presumably they got further training at the same time. This is canon, and should not be viewed as controversial or in doubt (that kind of view was more reasonable back when Rookies first aired, but it's been years.) As ludicrous as it might sound, TCW started the "getting promoted to ARC trooper." ARC trooper is not a rank, it's a variant of troopers (or it could be a title). Rank promotion could be found in various sources, like the databank. A clone example is CT-65/91-6210. JangFett(Talk) 01:03, September 14, 2013 (UTC)
Actually, because ARCs are more advanced than standard clone troopers and the lowest ARC rank is sergeant, yes, becoming an ARC is a promotion. CloneMarshalCommanderCody (talk) 21:21, June 12, 2014 (UTC)
