So the Sith were a force sensitive species that were dominated by Dark Jedi. I get that. What I am confused on is what exactly happened to them. Do they still exist(In the most current of the timeline?) The order was created using some of the tenants of the species, but modern Sith(Such as Palpatine, etc.) are not Sith species, right?
What happened to them? 126.96.36.199 05:49, June 14, 2011 (UTC)
Look up 'Sith' on Wookieepedia and you will find your answer. It's quite interesting history, even though it's fiction.188.8.131.52 23:56, June 15, 2011 (UTC)
The Republic attacked Korriban in the Great Hyperspace War. Naga Sadow had to hid out on Yavin 4 until he was awoken by Freedon Nadd (Human). Then it was passed down to other Dark lords such as Exar Kun until the “Sith” became know as users of the dark side oppose to an actual race. 00:43, June 17, 2011 (UTC)
The Sith race was exterminated when Darth Bane initiated the rule of the two. Post-Bane sith were found by the master and then trained in the sith arts. Like jedi--Darth Bal 19:16, June 22, 2011 (UTC)
Not quite. The extinction of the Sith species had nothing to do with Bane. It is unclear exactly how the Sith species became extinct, and I suspect we won't learn until the conclusion of Star Wars: The Old Republic. But the Sith species is gone by the time of Bane (possibly having been extinct since the fall of the Sith Empire from TOR). There's also not much evidence anymore that the Sith species was exterminated. That's what we thought before TOR, when the canon showed that the Republic hunted the Sith Empire, and consequently the species, to extinction following the Great Hyperspace War. But The Old Republic cancels that point-of-view. The only known case of the Sith species being exterminated was on Kesh, where the Human members of the Lost Tribe of Sith killed their red brethren, leaving only Humans and Keshiri. I hope that helps. Taral, Dark Lord of the Sith-Just shy, not antisocial: You can talk to me!- 19:31, June 22, 2011 (UTC)
As early as Geonosis and the Outer Rim Worlds, there have been implications that the Sith have persisted into the "present day" on lost or hidden worlds such as Tund and Thule after the Hyperspace War diaspora. Wizards of the Coast were the main advocates of the idea (mostly in order to allow for canonical Sith encounters in the later eras). DD97Which bear is best? 21:38, June 22, 2011 (UTC)
