I was reading "The Last Command" by Timothy Zahn and wanted to know more about Defel, so I went to the page here and it said their first appearance was in Episode IV: A New Hope. I thought I knew that movie front and back... when was there a Defel? At Mos Eisley? Or just in the book adaptation? Thanks —Unsigned comment by 68.156.25.82 (talk • contribs).

- Yup, Arleil Schous was in the original Star Wars, and was later identified as a Defel in 1989's Galaxy Guide 4: Alien Races (First Edition). I originally thought that Zahn invented the species, but he actually used a lot of material from the existing West End Games sourcebooks when he wrote his nameless trilogy. Very cool. I'm the guy who asked the question, I just wasn't signed in when I did. I'll have to check out that Galaxy Guide, then!
- You can find more info about Defels in Alien Anthology or in Ultimate Alien Anthology, or at our very own page. Also, be sure to always sign your posts with four tildes --- just stick ~~~~ at the end of any comment you make on a talk page or forum. Cheers! Menkooroo 02:30, October 6, 2011 (UTC)
