Did the Sith species originate on Dromund Kaas or Korriban? Both planets are cited as the original home in their respective articles. One version claims the Sith went from Dromund Kaas to Korriban, but another version says that the Sith species only gained space travel after defeAting the Rakatan's attack on Korriban.
Until last week, I would have said Korriban is the correct planet of origin, the Dromund Kaas updates are fanon, and delete them as such. At present, new materials like the Revan novel and TOR spoilers are putting everything up in the air. If any of those sources have retconned the history of the Sith, once it can be confirmed we'll need to update all related articles accordingly. It's worth noting that if the source of this new info is the game, we actually need to remove it for the short term per here. The rancor's kind of out of the den at this point, though. I played the TOR beta haaaaaard one weekend (like, 30+ hours over a 3 day weekend hard) on the Sith side and found nothing to challenge my understanding that the Sith species originated on Korriban. I haven't read Revan yet, but all that I've seen and read (TotJ/KOTOR comics, short stories, KOTOR 1/2, TOR) seem to support Korriban as the Sith species homeworld. The novel Revan does explicitly indicate that they began on Dromund Kaas, so this will require some kind of explanation (possibly from within the TOR game at some point). I'm thinking this may also tie in to the revelations from KOTOR II on the "True Sith" who had an academy on Malachor V dating back 20,000 years (if I recall correctly). It's possible that the Sith began on Dromund Kaas, went to Korriban, forgot about Dromund Kaas, went to Ziost (recognizing Korriban as the original homeworld), were driven from Ziost by the Republic, and rediscovered Dromund Kaas and their original history. That's just a thought; we should await word and recognize the different statements in the relevant articles. While it may make things a little more difficult for Wookieepedia, I really like Drew K's take on it in that first link. DigiFluid 15:49, December 8, 2011 (UTC)
Okay, I hope I'm doing this right. From what I get so far up until the novel Revan it was established that the origin of the Sith species was Korriban, there they where found by dark Jedi and from there out they expanded their empire. Soon they established their seat of power on Ziost (why is still unknown).
After the great Hyperspace war they fled and established the new seat on Dromund Kaas. Perhaps Drew mixed something up but that really doesn't matter because he IS a great author and I really enjoyed Revan a lot.
The explanation that the emperor messed up with his people to make himself look even more the savior doesn't quite fit. The information on Nathema was found by T3-M4 and and it is highly unlikely that the emperor planted this info there.I hope someone (perhaps Drew himself) picks that idea up and elaborates on it a little bit. --Starocotes 13:31, January 18, 2012 (UTC)
You missed one important point. The Sith relocated to Ziost well before the arrival of the Dark Jedi. Korriban's ecosystem was devastated during a battle with the Rakata millennia earlier. As a result, the power base of the Sith was moved to Ziost, while Korriban remained a holy site. Most of this comes from The Essential Atlas and the Evil Never Dies article, I believe.
