In Empire Strikes Back, Darth Vader says "that's it they are there" (referring to Hoth) "and Skywalker is with them". Later when he communicates with the Emperor he (the Emperor) says Skywalker is the son of Anakin Skywalker and Vader says "can this be true". My question is. Vader knew at the beginning of the movie that Luke was a Skywalker so surely he knew the he was related to him, surely?—Unsigned comment byCramegap (talk • contribs).
People can share the same surname and not be related, he probably just assumed it was a coincidence. Ayrehead02 (talk) 18:49, June 25, 2014 (UTC)
If I recall correctly Vader was not aware that Padme successfully gave birth to twins, but I'm not entirely certain. At any rate it should also be considered that with the same surname Vader might have suspected that he was related to but was not his son.Meph9 (talk) 01:56, June 26, 2014 (UTC)
