OK I have three questions...two of which have been bothering me for some time now.
1.) In Episode VI at the very beginning of the movie they show Vader leaving an Imperial-class Star Destroy. I find this odd because at this point in time the Executor was his flag ship. So why would he have switched his Super Star Destroy for an ISD? Also does anyone know the name of the ISD he was on?
2.) In Star Wars: Complete Cross-sections, the cross-section of the ISD show storage silos at the front of the ship storing liquid and raw materials. Water fine, I can work with that, its vital to life. However did the ISD have the means to process those raw materials or was it just a glorified cargo ship hauling these materials across the Empire?
3.) In Episode III the Invisible Hand was shown to be flooded with liquid fuel in deleted scenes. I find this slightly interesting, is hypermater a liquid or is a different kind of fuel for something else other then the reactors like the ion engines of weapons?
None of these questions may have answers but then maybe they do. Can anyone help? Apotheoses Jedi 00:44, 21 November 2008 (UTC-6)
For Question 1, it's entirely possible that the Executor was needed elsewhere while Vader needed to get to Endor (oron the other hand, the Executor may have needed to go to Endor earlier, while Vader had business elsewhere and would rejoin with it later; I don't remember if the Executor was already at Endor at the beginning of ROTJ or if it joined up later). Vader would know what assets his fleet had and probably has the knowledge to deploy his forces where they are most effective. If his business (which has not been established, to my knowledge) needed only the efforts of an ISD, while the Executor could be better used elsewhere, then why not? I believe the Star Destroyer Vader chased the Tantive IV in was the Devastator. 'Fraid I don't know the answers to your fuel questions, but you might try consulting The Completely Unofficial Star Wars Encyclopedia. User:Fenrisulfir 1:55, 22 November 2008
In response to your third question, the ion drive article says "liquid chemical reactants" can be one of the ways to fuel the ship. Nothing indicates that the ship uses hypermatter for power.-- Riffsyphon1024 09:53, 29 November 2008 (UTC)
