Now I have long been a Star wars fan, and this site has helped me quite a bit in regards to expanding my understanding of the Star Wars universe. However there is a bit of information that has eluded me. During my research into the setting I have noticed that many characters stay alive and active over centuries. This is not hard to believe, as the medical knowledge in the setting no doubt surpasses our own. However I have not been able to locate any information on specific medical science that extends life, and more to the point I have been unable to find any indication of how long these medical techniques extend a lifespan. So are there any specific examples of life extension science, and how long can a human life be extended by them. I would like to make clear that I am not after exotic, or scientifically unique examples. Rather I am interested in basic technology that would have been available to the Galactic Republic, and Empire. --I am your master! At your service. (talk) 21:30, December 19, 2012 (UTC)
- "Many characters"? Such as? The only ones I can think of either survived via stasis or else were of species which were naturally long-lived. — DigiFluid(Whine here) 22:23, December 19, 2012 (UTC)
Well there was Revan, qwho survived from the time of the Old Sith wars all the way into the Great Galactic War, and period of a few hundred years of I am not mistaken. then there is A'Sharad Hett. He was active during the Clone Wars, and outlived Anakin Skywalker's Grandkids. the list is actually fairly long when you look at it. --I am your master! At your service. - Both of them were in stasis for extended periods of time. — DigiFluid(Whine here) 22:37, December 19, 2012 (UTC)
- As far as I can remember, it's quite "normal" for Humans to attain the age of 100 years at the time of the Galactic Civil War. Force-sensitive individuals can, however, live centuries without stasis. Mother Rell was 400 in 8 ABY, and the ancient Jedi Master Shayoto was over 800 at the time of the Conclave on Deneba. In the Millennium Falcon novel, you also have the Aurora Medical Facility, where people could be treated to reach the age of 150. --LelalMekha (talk) 23:28, December 19, 2012 (UTC)
