Thanks for the list of all individuals, and dark force individuals given below this post. That was extremely helpful and of great benefit.
I have one more question regarding list, I'm looking for a list of the species who are generally good and working for the light. I'm not looking for neutral or dark species, just those that make a positive difference in resisting the empire and working for the light.
This is important. I'd appreciate very much if anyone can either point one out or put one together?
The force will be pleased.

- The Wookiees and Mon Calamari are probably the most "good" species in that regard. -- AdmirableAckbar (Talk) 16:16, 15 January 2009 (UTC)
- I would have said the Ithorians myself. Din's Fire 997 20:47, 15 January 2009 (UTC)
- It would seem that 'good' species are generally nature-loving, as shown by the above three examples. There are a number of species which only appear as Jedi in canon, such as the Neti, which would make them seem to be species of the light. - Ferroans on Zonama Sekot, Ryn and also Brrblrrpp a flora-like species found on Esfandia. Jiang Mothma 10:00, 16 January 2009 (UTC)
- I'm sorry that's just too POV. How does one truly define "good"? -- Riffsyphon1024 04:17, 17 January 2009 (UTC)
- I agree with Riffsyphon1024 on this one, good is a view point that varies depending on the people you ask. I personally find both the Sith and the Empire to be good. However I would like to help and have the fallowing suggestions. Do not use the Mon Calamari, Wookies or Ryn. Here’s why: The Wookies were known to be aggressive fighters, they manufactured all kinds of weapons and fought with the Trandoshan. (not to mention they'd rip your arms out of your sockets if they lose games) The Mon Cal are no better they created countless war machines (i.e. half of Mon Calamari Shipyards inventory, Mon Cal Defenses, FIDO, and lets not forget about the Mon Calamari Knights (good people do not need standing armies)). Plus they Mon Cals engaged in war with their own native neighbors the Quarren. As for the Ryn and race that is described as “very tenacious and brutal fighters” cannot be good. I would suggest the Ithorians, the Priapulin, Kurtzen, and the Lurmen. Apotheoses Jedi 24:18, 16 January 2009 (UTC-6)
- I assumed that when he asked for good species, he meant species that did things attributed to the light side, not neccessarily peaceful species. The Mon Cal and Wookiees weren't exactly peaceful, but in almost all cases, they are portrayed as fighting for the 'good' side eg. Old Republic, Jedi Order, Rebellion, New Republic, NJO etc.
- I would never call some particular Ithorians good and peacefull. Mauser 08:53, 17 January 2009 (UTC)
- Which is another reason this question is problematic. Alien societies aren't monoliths. They're filled with distinct individuals, some good, some bad, most somewhere in between. jSarek 12:51, 17 January 2009 (UTC)
That last post was totally right. Every individual is different. However, Ewoks, Humans who were born and lived on Naboo, Yoda's species, Sullustans, arguably Whipids, and possibly Talz (the Talz were primitive, but were unkown and then enslaved by the empire; they were innocent, in that regard)
Also, the Mon calamari never sided with the empire. Home one, was originally a cruise ship, remember? The Wookiees had to fight because they were used as slaves so often.
- Humans who were from Naboo such as... Palpatine?! And I disagree with Mon Cals. because some (read Merai) supported the CIS at the First Battle of Kamino. Also, I agree with Riffsyphon and jSarek, and find this a waste of time. "Good" and "Evil" are subjective, people. ---RCKTalk 12:57, 2 February 2009 (UTC)
True, but plpatine was a sith lord, and only one person. Good and evil aren't subjective. I'm not saying that you take the sides of the antagonists in every book/movie you watch/read, but Palpatine's sheer hatred, evil, and speciesism, wasn't subjective.
- Yes it is. Palpatine was, in his own, demented mind, bringing order to the Galaxy. To him, the ends justified the means, which is always a logical, albeit incredibly subjective, argument. A villain doesn't usually say "I'm a villain!" He says "I'm a man, who does villainous things, for the sake of reaching my goals, which to me seem reasonable and logical." Taral, Dark Lord of the Sith 21:41, 3 February 2009 (UTC)
erm, thank you for posting on my c.w. forum, but if the majority of the common people in the galaxy cold've read palpatine's thoughts, they'd believe he was evil and tried to arrest him. I guess you beat me on the subjective and point of views part, but to take the overhand in logic (no i'm not spock...), acheiving a goal for the galaxy by hurting so many -albeit, somewhat gladly-, is logically off of logic. It seems that he at least recognized his role as a villan, when interpreting others. However, the jedi had none of this. That is the seperating line.
- Which is exactly why it's subjective. Most felt that way, but not everyone. --Hobbie 04:15, 4 February 2009 (UTC)
Then we can agree to disagree, count out my logic, and dub this a bit of a bad forum. Wonderfull! By the way, wasn't there another hobbie who was luke's co-pilot at the battle of hoth, or am I mistaken?
This is one the subject of good versus evil, the Sith and the Empire are BAD if you look at it from any author's point of view. They are normally antogonists, or evil protagonists. And just because Wookies fight to defend themselves, and Mon Cal build weapons for protection and import doesn't make them evil. And the ends justifying the means is any fictional villians belief, because star wars has no known psychopaths. But labeling a species in a whole is not possible, but labeling a planet or government is possible if you look at they're alliances. Hopefully you chose Rebel and Republic planets
