How many times has Palpatine faced an opponent or situation in canon, where he was in trouble of losing or dying. Here's what I know. Mace Windu, Yoda, Galen Marek, unspecified sith spirits on Korriban confining him to a bacta tank, The Battle of Korriban during the Galactic Civil War, Arden Lyn? and Luke Skywalker in his second duel on Byss. Please confirm on each or add more. —Unsigned comment by184.108.40.206 (talk • contribs).
"The Emperor's Pawns" mentions it (specifically, that it messed up Palpy so badly that Jeng Droga had to fish up a clone body for him). If I remember correctly, this detail was elaborating upon an older mention in books aimed at younger readers . . . Star Wars Missions, maybe? Can't recall for certain. jSarek 09:12, October 5, 2011 (UTC)
