Just wondering if anyone knows any good Star Wars books/comics/short stories that are more on the political side, rather than all action. I've heard Cloak of Deception is good, and I plan on reading it, but does anyone know any others? Thanks in advance.--Masterbmw 01:21, February 20, 2012 (UTC)
- I liked the Darth Plagueis novel. It has some politics and crime syndicate connections and Palpatines rise to Supreme Chancellor. --CookieCrumb 01:58, February 20, 2012 (UTC)
- Darth Plagueis is definitely a good choice. Though it features primarily with Sith interests, unlike the Darth Bane series, Darth Plagueis actually deals less with Force powers and Sith rituals than the Sith's political maneuvering and Palpatine's ascent. There's also a few good issues of the Star Wars: Republic comics that deal specifically with politics and certain laws, usually as foreshadowing toward the Republic's transformation to the Empire. The story Star Wars: Republic 61: Dead Ends is a good example. There's also a good amount of background politics in the Republic Commando series, though it's primarily military action. Those would be my recommendations for a start, anyway. Bella'Mia 02:11, February 20, 2012 (UTC)
- If you want to look at the New Republic or the Galactic Alliance, there's the Black Fleet Crisis trilogy, and Destiny's Way (that's the one where they rebuild the NR into the GFFA, right?) Taral, Dark Lord of the Sith -Just shy, not antisocial: You can talk to me!- 20:38, February 20, 2012 (UTC)
