I am curious about the new books. I know that Disney is considering all the old books as "nonsense" (to put it gently) and has begun rewriting the series following Endor. I am just curious wether or not characters such as Rae Sloane are suddenly cannon characters. By this I mean are characters not created expressly by Disney, but a specific author eligible for possible (however unlikely) use in other mediums outside the specific author's works? Or are they required to make a "physical" (live or otherwise) appearance in order for that to be so?
Never really quite understood how that worked for characters like Thrawn and Daala.
Hi. Rae Sloane is indeed canon. Books like A New Dawn and Aftermath, both of which she makes an appearance in, are canon. Characters like her could show up in films someday, if the films warranted an appearance and the character fit. - Brandon Rhea(talk) 00:32, November 27, 2015 (UTC)
