There is a picture of a republic gunship in space. The dockiing bay is completely exposed, why aren't the storm troopers dead?—Unsigned comment byJiang Mothma (talk • contribs).
Clone trooper armor provides some protection against the vacuum of space. jSarek 07:49, 2 September 2008 (UTC)
If you play battlefront 2 you will see the rear panels on the LAAT Gunship close to cover the troop compartment --BobaFett26 15:09, 2 September 2008 (UTC)
One of the comics (I don't remember which one) actually does have a picture of an LAAT in space, but the passenger compartment is closed in that picture. I remember the picture because I was so surprised to see it in space, having previously thought that they were only able to operate in atmospheres (you know, that whole Low Alititude part of their name and all). Actually, if you read the Republic Commando books by Karen Traviss, it says that Commando amro can be in vacuum for 20 mins. However, I don't know if that is the same with regular trooper armor, although I would assume so. Kom'rk Vhett 13:20, 6 September 2008 (UTC)
As JMAS said, it's just a cross-section, and the background could have been of any color. You could have added: "it seems that some parts of the bodywork are missing, how come the ship doesn't explode?"... Come on. But of course it doesn't change the fact that they can go or not into the void of space. Klow 16:02, 6 September 2008 (UTC)
