Are the events in Star Wars Galaxies set at a particular date? I have seen the date 1.5 BBY used a lot, but I believe that I was told that this was not correct. I was hoping that someone could tell me what year the game is set in, if that information is available. Thank you for your time.--Exiled Jedi

- I have found no specific date and I believe the 1.5 ABY date was invented by someone in the early days of the Wook based on the fact that the game takes places after Episode 4 but before Episode 5. OLIOSTER (talk) 02:20, October 14, 2011 (UTC)
- That's kind of what I thought, thanks.--Exiled Jedi

- It may be based on the date for Star Wars Galaxies: The Ruins of Dantooine. jSarek 11:51, October 14, 2011 (UTC)

- The Nightsister's Revenge indicates at least some events are after the establishment of the Rebel base on Hoth. DD97Which bear is best? 16:08, October 14, 2011 (UTC)]
- Well, I prefer to type 1.5 ABY, but apparently it's improper because such a specific date is not mentioned in the game. It's not like in the game they specifically say what date it is. All that's know is that it takes place after the Battle of Yavin and before the Battle of Hoth. But is there a specific date mentioned in the Ruins of Dantooine book? If so, that could be the appropriate timeline for SWG. But until something's clear mentioned, I would just give general timelines in articles, like "After the Battle of Yavin," or, "between 0 to 3 ABY." StarsiderSWG 16:30, October 15, 2011 (UTC)
- Hm... I thought the date was mentioned somewhere a couple of years ago. Maybe in one of the threads on the now-closed official forums where Leland Chee answered continuity questions? The timeline in Ruins of Dantooine places it in the 0-3 ABY section, between Tales from the Mos Eisley Cantina and Splinter of the Mind's Eve. In the game, the NPC Ruwan Tokai mentions that the Death Star was destroyed "last year", placing at least his quests in 1 ABY. But I've never been a fan of placing all the events in the game in a too narrow timeframe, because some quests clearly should take place over a longer span of time, some over several months. There are some mentions of Echo Base being build, mention of Imperial construction crews heading to Endor, and Leia's impending flight to Mimban is also mentioned somewhere, so 0 ABY and 3 ABY seem unlikely. I wouldn't mind placing some quests at different points of time between 0 and 3 ABY, but that's something only official sources can do, of course. --Craven 14:15, October 31, 2011 (UTC)
- Yeah, I've always been under the impression that some events occurred at different times between the 0 to 3 ABY time-frame. Some earlier, and some later. Maybe just saying "circa 1.5 ABY" would suffice? StarsiderSWG 18:39, October 31, 2011 (UTC)
