Hello, are there any sources which confirm all TIE pilots, perhaps at least during the Galactic Civil War, as exclusively humans? I am working on one, PS-29-2, as a comprehensive article nomination, and don't know whether any source has stated them all to be humans, or if that position was also open to alien species. Thanks, I'm going to assume that means the TIE pilots were not necessarily all human at any point during their existence. Hanzo Hasashi 04:27, January 6, 2011 (UTC)
I understand the Empire as very human-centred and discriminatory towards pretty well everyone else. That's why Thrawn's promotion to Grand Admiral is so intriguing. They took a Chiss because he had exceptional ability and realized that they could use him. So, the Empire might have taken members of other species that they felt could be a great benefit. Still, a Devaronian? How would those wee horns fit in the tight helmet of a human imperial pilot? I realize that I haven't really answered your question, but I wouldn't count on getting too many replies. I would guess that it's just an addition by the author of whatever that excerpt was from.
Please enjoy your tea.

Human centered, but not exclusively human. Take note that on the Imperial Ace (individual) page, something I was unaware about before making this forum, his species are unknown, and not assumed to be human. And as for Devaronian TIE pilots, I'm not sure if their helmets were the same as the helmets we see being worn by the human pilots from the movies. Hanzo Hasashi 19:10, January 13, 2011 (UTC)
I don't any thing at all about T'Syriél stormtroopers but I'm sure it's possible they had a squadron of TIEs, but since they're so large they would've needed some specialized ones so who knows. Of course there is also this page Alien stormtrooper which states that it was 30 years before aliens were allowed into the Imperial service besides the T'Syriél.
