I just finished listening to all three of the young adult novels (The Weapon of the Jedi, Smuggler's Run, and Moving Target) and all three had scenarios where the protagonist (Luke, Han, or Leia) were all saved from peril by an EMP detonated at a critical moment. Also, the EMPs were provided, handled, and used by someone other than the protagonist.
I find these parallels to be to similar to be coincidental in the individual authors plans for their stories, and wonder if this is a concerted delivery of an 'Easter egg'.
Am I reading too much into this? EMP technology has occurred in Star Wars, but not too commonly by the acronym itself.
