Alright, I've been wondering for the longest of whiles, but what exactly would be the Star Wars equivalent of a phone? I mean, I know there are comlinks for two way communication up to a limited range, there's email like we use, there's the HoloNet (Which I'll assume has some IMing abilities), holoprojectors and personal datapds. But what exactly is "phone" in this galaxy? Say I live on Coruscant and want to call my brother and wish him a happy anniversary on his wedding, how am I gonna do that? What's my "home phone" in this case? Or say I'm in some fine Tarisian club, and I've gotten separated from my party and I wanna him them up on my cell phone to find him. What's "cell phone" in this case? Or say I'm even just watching some podracing on Malastre and I want to call my friend on Corellia to tell him I just some some Senator with a potential mistress. What's my "cell phone" in that case? I wouldn't imagine a holoprojector being appropriate in these situations. What in the world would I use to contact my family, friends, emergency services, etc., have my contact list and all that? —Unsigned comment by220.127.116.11 (talk • contribs).
There's the "e-mail" they have in the X-wing computer games. Also, I seem to remember instances of characters talking about "comming" each other and giving their "comlink frequency." Graestan(Talk) 13:37, 24 November 2008 (UTC)
They "paired" comlinks to communicate with each other later and had people using comlinks to covertly capture holoimages (ala camera phones) in Millennium Falcon -- Darth Culator(Talk) 14:59, 24 November 2008 (UTC)
