Ok kids, time to knuckle down and answer the question: What is the difference between the Victory I and the Victory II? I've seen a lot of answers from a lot of people but NONE of them from lucasfilm/arts or Lucas himself. We know the Victory has outriggers that make it different from an Imp. SD. But should we consider the X-type outriggers the Victory II class or Victory I class or?? Any thoughts on this? Is there a consensus in the community? There are a bunch of outspoken people who tend to force their opinions through, so i would like EVERYONES opinion on this.
vic-iis have no missiles and more turbolasers and ion cannons and more powerful engines as opposed to the weak engines and 80 concussion missile tubes of vic-is ASDF1239-DISCUSSION- 17:55, March 10, 2010 (UTC)
True but what does it look like? X-type or normal victory-winged type?
The main problem is that not only has the X-type not been definitively associated with either class, both classes have been depicted in canon as having non-X flat wing surfaces. There's simply not enough evidence to make any further categorization. My pet theory is that the wings on a Vicstar are variable-geometry, and can actually shift into the X-configuration or flatten out. ("Commander, manuever the Protector into a defensive posture... and lock s-foils into attack position.") That's not canon, though. Dangerdan97 21:53, March 10, 2010 (UTC)
dont the images for both vics have wings on them? or am i mistaken ASDF1239-DISCUSSION- 21:59, March 10, 2010 (UTC)
They do, but the issue at hand is the configuration of said wings, and whether that configuration indicates a particular sub-class. Dangerdan97 23:47, March 10, 2010 (UTC)
