Can anyone give me a canon reason why Jedi rarely used two light-sabers? I know that some thought it was "too aggressive" but they clearly weren't against it that much as multiple Jedi, such as Ahsoka, used it without apparent controversy. Throughout Star Wars, many Jedi, when losing a fight, would grab a second lightsaber and use it to completely change the situation (For example: When Obi-Wan fought Maul and Savage and when Kanan fought the Inquisitor for the final time), showing how useful they can be in combat. This makes it odd that it was so rare. Sithpiciously Evil (talk) 01:22, August 21, 2015 (UTC)
- What you're talking about is Jar'Kai (Jar'Kai/Canon). The Legends article describes a section on Weaknesses of the form that may serve to answer your question. It also provides a list of notable practitioners of the form, many of which also used it in canon. The article's Behind the scenes section also notes that it took a while for the concept to find a way into the stories, which is a real-world explanation why it was not as common. There's also the fact that like any style, one had to be trained in it in order to be adept. ProfessorTofty (talk) 03:56, August 21, 2015 (UTC)
- Yes, and it is a much more advanced and specialized technique than most single-bladed styles. --Commander Awesome (AKA TheCrazyWeirdo) (Talk - Contribs) 17:23, September 10, 2015 (UTC)

- There might be a hint in KOTOR 1 when it describes the Jedi apprehension to using a double blade because of the "reckless aggression". Also, the use of a single blade is more precises then a double, and two handed position (Kotor 1). --User:Gangals (Talk - Contribs) 17:23, September 13, 2015 (UTC)
