Why did'nt Darth Vader use essense transfer to transfer his soul into a healthy clone body of Anakin Skywalker. Sidious had dooku have vos retrieve Anaddedu's holocron, so why didnt Vader make use of this technique, he certainly had the force capability.
Palpatine would have been the one who taught him the technique if he ever employed it. Palpatine has an established vested interest in keeping Vader weakened as whenever Vader has gotten the chance, he's taken swings at his Master through conniving. However, per the ROTS video game, Palatine would fall quickly if he were confronted by a Vader with his natural body; therefore, Vader would never have been taught how to transfer himself. On the Palpatine page here on Wookieepedia there are repeated references to how disappointed the Emperor was about his perfect Sith apprentice being reduced to a shell of his former self. It even indicates that Palpatine's interest in the Starkiller clone is because he is disappointed in Vader. I think it's probably more likely that no author has ever thought to ask the question that you just asked, as logical as it is... DarthSideoftheMoon 19:15, October 28, 2011 (UTC)
The fact of the matter is, no canonical source has ever stated that Vader learned the technique; and frankly, it doesn't make sense that Palpatine would teach him, since Palps intended to use the power to live indefinitely himself. So Vader didn't use it because he never learned how. Jonjedigrandmaster(Talk) 20:47, October 28, 2011 (UTC)
Here's a better question. Why didn't Palpatine transfer his force essence into a clone of Anakin? He would have a body with a higher midiachlorin count and boosted his force power. Darth Pippen 18:09, November 3, 2011 (UTC)Darth Pippen
Again, no canonical sources offer an explanation. Theoretically, Palpatine's vanity might play a factor, and it also might depend on how easily getting a sample of Anakin's genetic material was. DD97Which bear is best? 18:21, November 3, 2011 (UTC)
I get the vanity aspect, but I would think that his lust for power (Anakin being a higher source of force power) would overrule. Palpatine had an excellent opportunity to get genetic material when Anakin was being treated and fitted for the Vader suit. I'm just saying. Darth Pippen 21:40, November 8, 2011 (UTC)
Answering this question entails much speculation. It might have been best if it was just left unanswered.MaxReebo 17:15, November 15, 2011 (UTC)
Perhaps something about the way in which Anakin was conceived made his body different from normal beings. It's possible Sideous knew that a clone wouldn't be up to the potential of the true Anakin.--Omnitheo 04:30, December 27, 2011 (UTC)
As far as Palpatine using a clone of Anakin, isn't it that clones do not necessarily share the same force sensitivity, Dorsk 81 for instance. So it would still just be Palpatine's essence in Anakin's body. He would still have all the same abilities, just a different physique. —Unsigned comment by22.214.171.124 (talk • contribs).
