Padme said that she was pregnant but Anikan did not know. So who does that make Luke's and Leia's father. —Unsigned comment byDarth Benny (talk • contribs).
Anakin was. Just because you impregnate someone doesn't mean you get a little automatic warning light going off inside your head saying that you did. jSarek 05:59, 16 March 2008 (UTC)
Have you not been around Star Wars long, guy who doesn't sign his name? You try and act like you can analyze a situtation, but you miss the massive fact that Anikin is Luke and Leia's father. Please don't try to impress people like that..... Zinthematrix 02:17, 17 March 2008 (UTC)
And you, Zinthematrix, please don't post needlessly attacking other people's lack of knowledge of the Star Wars universe. Remember that not everyone may have the same degree of Star Wars knowledge that you may possess ;) Also, please attempt to help users who may not know their away around a wiki, like this one, instead of scaring them away. You might want to take your own advice at the end, there :-) Greyman(Talk) 02:24, 17 March 2008 (UTC)
It was my second post and dude it just seemed a bit odd hat he acted like he didn't know so sorry Zinhemarixand also sorry for acting like a noob I have liked Star Wars for along time and it was odd also thanks for sticking up for me Greyman :) :Darth Benny
That question has been asked by a lot of fans, using it as an argument that there was some kind of romantic triangle going on between Anakin, Obi-wan and Padme. 'How can Anakin not sense that Padme is pregnant?' everyone, including myself, ask. I had just dismissed it as another example of bad writing in the script -that is until now when pondering Benny's question it suddenly hit me: Anakin could not sense Padme's pregnancy for the same reason Vader couldn't sense Leia's connection to the Force when he was torturing her in Episode IV!!! Leia's close proximity to Luke in the womb cancels out, or at least minimizes the twins' presence in the Force, which explains Obi-wan's surprise at finding out that Padme is having twins. Very clever George.:)Tocneppil 04:58, 17 March 2008 (UTC)
Wow that is probably what happened nic theory! :) Darth Benny
Y'know, it's really not that uncommon for pregnancies to go unnoticed by the spouse, significant other, parents, etc. Many times, young expectant mothers won't even know until they are roughly five-six months to term. Anakin prolly at first thought (if he noticed) that perhaps Padme was just getting a lil lax in terms of keeping a perfect figure. Or perhaps, since Padme dressed to hide any sign of pregnancy, that she effectively hid it from Anakin as well. Trak Nar 05:05, 17 March 2008 (UTC)
...I'm not even going to deny the silliness of this. So sorry, but it just is. FirebirdPhoenix Rising 05:38, 17 March 2008 (UTC)
As SillyDan has said, you gotta remember to not take things too seriously and have fun. XD Trak Nar 05:42, 17 March 2008 (UTC)
haha woops I accidentally posted this on the "discussion" part of this page...but here is what i said haha...
Also, it makes sense that Anakin would not have known, or their presences in the Force would not have been known to him because he was gone for so long during the Clone Wars. I think somewhere it is said that when Anakin and Padme are seen in ROTS, that is the first time they have seen eachother since they supposedly conceived the twins. In between this time, Anakin was in the Outer Rim being a hero yada yada...so basically I can see how he wouldn't have noticed since he was a) distracted by the war, and b) he was so far away.
