My question is this, " Looking at a basic human cell, {such as a red blood cell or skin cell} where would midichlorians be found {such as 'inside the nucleus' etc}? Darth Blight 19:52, 17 April 2007 (UTC)
- I don't know if that's ever been established. Chack Jadson 20:00, 17 April 2007 (UTC)
- oh right... thanks anywayDarth Blight 20:18, 17 April 2007 (UTC)

- Associated with mitochondria? -- Riffsyphon1024 05:10, 18 April 2007 (UTC)
- New book...? Whats it called?Darth Blight 14:52, 18 April 2007 (UTC)
- Click the link. Alternatively, click: Jedi vs. Sith: The Essential Guide to the Force. Jorrel Fraajic 14:55, 18 April 2007 (UTC)
- Riff is right. IIRC I read somewhere that Lucas named them after mitochondria, whose function is (or at least was back when he wrote TPM) a biological mystery. Gonk (Gonk!) 15:08, 18 April 2007 (UTC)
- Actually, there's no mystery to what mitochondria do. They provide energy to the cells. jSarek 21:04, 18 April 2007 (UTC)
- And what does the Midichlorians do? Provide the energy need to use the force :) Jasca Ducato 22:19, 21 April 2007 (UTC)

- That makes sense, but how do you explain the fact that some have more midichlorians than others...? Is it just a genetic thing?Darth Blight 10:57, 22 April 2007 (UTC)
- sometimes it's genetic. others could just be the will of the force. Tutos Lumenarious 01:50, 1 June 2007 (UTC)
- It's an anomaly. We don't know what dictates the number of MC's one gets in their blood. Jasca Ducato 12:28, 22 April 2007 (UTC)
- So it's just a fluke which makes people Force sensitive {or makes them into SW fans:-)}.Darth Blight 20:17, 22 April 2007 (UTC)
- Exactly. They were added in the prequels to explain why some people in the original could touch the Force and some could not. TitanSithspit! Talk to me! 16:07, 24 April 2007 (UTC)
- Hmm, I sense a cover-up in the force... ;-)Darth Blight 16:29, 24 April 2007 (UTC)
