Dear Wookieepedia Administration,

We would first of all like to discuss the copyright issue. Most of the articles were sourced but should not have been copied from Wookieepedia, and for that, we are sorry. Most have now been reworded or sourced now, and our new copyright rule is now effective. Once again we are sorry for any trouble this may have caused on either of the Wikis.

However, we would also like to know why your administrators have been talking badly about the Wiki. Spreading news throughout Wookieepedia via forum and describing us as "Garbage" and "Inexperienced" is an outrage. It can be proven when one of your Users, Cal Jedi states: "I don't see why we need them. If other people want to work on them instead of working on the main Star Wars Wiki, then I say just ignore them." At another time, we saw his talk page as he was conversing with another User, saying "Most of the Users that start these Copyright-Violating External Wikis are just stupid and most were probably banned from this Wiki (Wookieepedia)".

Small specialised wikis can be less well written or less professional than the big general wikis, but they are generally composed of enthusiasts in that particular area, if the quality of the wiki is a problem why not help out and be nice instead of complaining about it behind everybody's backs.

While we agree that most of us joined this wiki as a refuge to your strict rules, we disagree that you should overshadow us. This is a different wiki. Unless you are claiming ownership, then you should have no say in what goes on with this Wiki.

So, due to your overpowering statements and the voice of people in this Wiki, I decree that Battlefront Wiki is now officially breaking ties with Wookieepedia. If you persue us with your foul language and target us for no apparent reasons, we will do the same to you. Note that any attempt to merge will be denied and we will constantly monitor your progress. Any harsh criticism against this wiki will result a talk with the staff members. If you notice any sort of misconduct in any of our pages, just report the page to the Administrators instead of blaming us.

Wookieepedia shall not use any more foul language or we shall fight any chance of trying to persuade us. Peace shall not be accepted due to the negative judgment that we have taken in. Wookieepedia needs to learn.

Yours Sincerely,

Anakin Skyobliviator, Sam2011, Kingofall42, Chance.purvis, Obi wan masterexxx10, Skitnies, Shocktrooper11 and JerryWiffleWaffle

Right. First and foremost, congratulations on sorting out the copyright problem. Please be aware that the copyright issue was not one of Wookieepedia's making, but an active copyright law that applies across the world. Wikia is licensed under CC-BY-SA, which means that while any material from our pages can be used elsewhere, credit to the original source must be given. Star Wars is, and always has been, copyrighted to LFL.
As for your "independence" and "breaking ties with Wookieepedia" - we have no official ties. You are not a recognised Friend of Wookieepedia. Aside from a shared subject matter, we have no links. You are free to conduct your business as you wish. All we care about is maintaining the integrity of our articles, and ensuring that proper credit is given when our work is used elsewhere. And we will continue to enforce that across Wikia. - Cavalier OneFarStar(Squadron channel) 14:51, October 28, 2011 (UTC)
  • That's a lot of morally righteous talk for someone that is still using assets from Wookieepedia, like the monobook backdrop. If you want to "cut ties," it'd be a more powerful statement if you started from scratch rather than copying and pasting Wookieepedia's structure and content. 72.184.142.141 15:02, October 28, 2011 (UTC)
  • Am I the only one who finds this overreaction slightly comical? C'mon people, it's not that big a deal. Grow up and realize that everyone is NOT out to get you and destroy your wiki. We don't care what you do with your wiki as long as it doesn't affect us. MasterFredCommerce Guild(Whatever) 15:32, October 28, 2011 (UTC)
  • Oh, no, how EVER shall we get along without you? Stop acting like children and focus on making your wiki not suck, and people won't say anything about you. We went to staff because you committed a legitimate violation of copyright law and Wikia rules. But when it comes to anything we do or say on this wiki, you can do exactly nothing. You don't have anything we'd want to steal. So go play in your little sandbox and leave the grown-ups alone. -- Darth Culator (Talk) 15:48, October 28, 2011 (UTC)
  • Proof - you don't need to be sarcastic about it. We are serious about the fact that several of your administrators have launched personal attacks on us. Sam2011CloneJetTrooperPhaseI-BFOS 16:55, October 28, 2011 (UTC)
  • Fred and Culator are absolutley right. The only reason why we got near your wiki in the first place is because you were violating legitimate copyright laws. That's all. I don't know why you want to bring something up that was settled weeks ago. And I don't know why you seem bent on singling me out. I didn't use a personal attack against any of you. And I didn't even single out BF wiki. I was just stating some facts at the time on what we were discussing. If you want to break ties with Wookieepedia, we're not going to stop you. Like Culator said, go ahead and run your sandbox. The only time that we are going to get involved is if you start breaking copyright laws again, or any other policies of the like.--Cal JediInfinite Empire (Personal Comm Channel) 16:19, October 28, 2011 (UTC)
  • Wow that's a lot of vindictiveness form you guys, really mature. Our wiki isn't bad, it's just not yet as good as it could be OK. {{SUBST:User:Kingofall42/SigReal|{{SUBST:{Predated }}}}.
  • Kingo is right, We are not behaving like children, we are just pointing out the issues between your administrators and our wiki. Although it shouldn't matter seeing as you allow personal attacks. We are just trying to get along with our Wiki. You don't need any part in instructing us, especially as the Copyright issue is now fixed. Sam2011CloneJetTrooperPhaseI-BFOS 16:51, October 28, 2011 (UTC)
    • The term "personal attack" is being used quite a lot here, so I suggest that you read the definition of "personal attack" supplied by Wikipedia. There is a difference between expressing an opinion and making a personal attack. We have nothing against you on a personal level and now that your copyright issues have been resolved, we have nothing against you on a professional level. Please extend the the same courtesy to us. --Jinzler 17:13, October 28, 2011 (UTC)
      • You're wiki is crap compared to Wookieepedia, but no one expects it to be any other way. Every wiki needs time to grow. I'm pretty sure none of us here hope your wiki fails. In fact, I'm sure several of our users who play Battlefront may very like to see your wiki become a very respectable and comprehensive site. I, for one, play the games. But the way you're coming onto our site and whining about getting your feelings hurt makes you look childish, and generalizing all Wookieepedians into that stereotype of person only strengthens that image. Plus, the fact that you didn't even know to go to the forums instead of creating a content page for this discussion only shows noobishness and lack of experience on your part. Please understand that your actions show you to be childish, whether you are or not. MasterFredCommerce Guild(Whatever) 17:55, October 28, 2011 (UTC)
        • I just lost alot of respect for some wookieepedians. I understand the copyright issues and yes parts of that letter were over-reacting but whats the point of arguing and childish insults when you can work together to improve both wikis 95.144.96.146 18:05, October 28, 2011 (UTC)
  • I have no idea what any of this is about, beyond what is on this very page, so I don't have much to say. All I do know is that, if you copied any of our articles, the CC-BY-SA license requires that you not only source where your information originates from, but also provide credit for ALL authors who contributed to that article (if you've already done this, excellent, and sorry for bringing up old news). That said, I'm sorry if the attitudes and opinions of other Wookieepedians have discouraged you from continuing to edit here, but it sounds from your own description of events like they may have had some cause to have negative feelings towards your wiki. jSarek 04:39, October 29, 2011 (UTC)

Warning to all[]

  • This is a general warning to anyone and everyone involved in this discussion who is or who has come close to crossing the line of our No personal attacks policy. Simply put, this won't be tolerated. As that policy page reads, comment on the content, not the contributor. If someone thinks the other wiki sucks, that is their right, but don't make your comments personally targeted at that wiki's community members. If anyone, Wookieepedians or not, engages in this type of behavior on this forum, you will be blocked from editing. Consider yourself warned. Moreover, this is a specific warning for every single member of this Battlefront wiki who chooses to be a part of this forum. Your accusations of personal attacks against our administration, as far as I can see, is completely unfounded, which in itself violates the spirit of our Civility guidelines. Either provide some evidence of these accusations, or drop the baloney. If you continue to perpetuate these false accusations without proof, I will personally ensure that each of you find yourself banned from this wiki. Additionally, I strongly suggest you leave this forum as it is and stop fueling this little flame war. You've made your point of secession, and there's nothing more for you to say here. Further disruption will also be handled appropriately by our admin team. Toprawa and Ralltiir 18:35, October 28, 2011 (UTC)
