Since it still happens a lot that images/files get uploaded with no information whatsoever, this mean these people are just ignoring the conveniently included form to fill out. Is there a way to make it so they are unable to upload the image without filling in the required spots (description, source, licensing)? You see it on many online merchant order pages where you try to submit your order but have left a required field blank, it'll give you an error and put a red X or highlight the missing information. Could something similar be implemented on the regular upload page? This wouldn't be necessary for the advanced upload page for experienced users. - JMAS Jolly Trooper Hey, it's me! 21:31, April 17, 2010 (UTC)

  • The upload form will already complain and not let you proceed if source and licensing aren't filled in. Which was the main reason for changing the form in the first place. You can get around that by going to the basic upload page which sticks {{Information}} in for you but doesn't force you to fill it in. We could make that check that the fields were filled in I guess, but it would be a little complicated. Whatever we do can be bypassed if you don't have JavaScript enabled though. Since JS is the only way to modify the page, if a user hasn't got it on they just get the Wikia default with no checking for source and licensing. Not much we can do about that. • I gotcha. I supposed no matter what was put in place, people would still find some way to circumvent it. - JMAS Jolly Trooper Hey, it's me! 22:02, April 17, 2010 (UTC)
