As the thread title suggests, I'm having issues with uploading images. Per the last guy who posted a similar notice just recently, I've logged out and back in for the sake of being sure, but found no change. When attempting to upload an image, I get this message:
"Due to upload abuse, adding or replacing files is limited to users who have achieved a threshold number of edits and account lifetime. Please find something constructive to do until you reach this threshold. Please note that spamming unproductive edits to reach this threshold will cause your account to be completely blocked from editing. Uploaders must also have a confirmed email address in their user preferences. For more information, please contact an administrator."
When I though there might just be an error, I tried the basic upload form just to see, and got this message:
"This action has been automatically identified as harmful, and therefore disallowed. If you believe your edit was constructive, please contact an administrator, and inform them of what you were trying to do. A brief description of the abuse rule which your action matched is: Combined unverified user upload prevention."
Now, I wouldn't say I'm a veteran Wookieepedian or anything, but I've been around and doing stuff for a while. And I've uploaded several images in the past with no such problem, or any trouble at all. Could someone let me know what I might be doing wrong, or need to do to get this fixed? Or is this some odd glitch? Any help would be very much appreciated. Bella'Mia 04:02, October 18, 2011 (UTC)
- Well, your userpage doesn't give me an "email this user" link, so that tells me that unless you've turned that feature off, you don't have a confirmed email address in your preferences. As the warning above states, a confirmed email address is required to upload images. That's the most likely issue. I don't have access to the filter's code to see specifically what all the restrictions are, so if that doesn't help you, you'll need help from an admin. - It turns out that I do have that feature turned off, but I also didn't have a confirmed e-mail address according to a look through my preferences. I could swear I did that before, but...what are you going to do, right? Anyway, that was the problem, and it's now working just fine. Thanks a bunch for the tip, Jonathan! :D Bella'Mia 05:36, October 18, 2011 (UTC)
