Hello. The pages Snit (dewback) and Snit (Animal) were previously duplicate pages about the same subject. The latter was the more complete, so I turned the former into a redirect to it. However, I believe the article should live under the more precise name Snit (dewback), but I cannot move Snit (Animal) to that location due to its edit history. Thanks. • Also on the topic of page moves that require an admin: per naming policy ("If a subject has more than one canon name, use the most formal and accurate version"), Ponemah should be named Ponemah Terminal. Regular users cannot make this move due to page history at Ponemah Terminal. Asithol (talk) 01:04, August 4, 2016 (UTC)

Neither of the above requests is urgent, but NB threads get archived after 14 days and thus essentially disappear from everyone's radar. It would be useful to have a place to post non-urgent requests that admins can get to in their own time and then archive (or otherwise mark as completed) once the request has been handled, not after some arbitrary (and clearly insufficient) time. Is there such a place? Is there a forum that's more suitable for move requests that require an admin? Thanks. Asithol (talk) 22:38, August 17, 2016 (UTC)

  • Hi there. If the edit history of a page is preventing a move to that title, it should be tagged with {{Delete}}, with an explanation like "delete to make way for move from $whatever". 1358 (Talk) 21:58, August 21, 2016 (UTC)
    • Perfect... just what I was looking for. Thanks! Asithol (talk) 11:37, August 27, 2016 (UTC)
