I have seen in articles a link that is red. When I click it, it has me writing the article. Was is this, and should they be removed? Unsigned comment by (talk • contribs).

  • A red link means the article linked to has yet to be written. --Imp 21:36, 6 March 2007 (UTC)
  • So it is just a request for it to be written? 21:38, 6 March 2007 (UTC)
  • Pretty much. --Imp 21:40, 6 March 2007 (UTC)
  • Either that or the link is incorrect, as in a typo. -Fnlayson 22:11, 6 March 2007 (UTC)

Wanted pages & categoriesEdit

There's a whole list of redlinks for pages called Special:Wantedpages and list of redlinks for categories called Special:Wantedcategories. There's only 46 wanted categories, so those could probably be taken care of rather quickly if enough of us were interested in doing so. However, I'm curious to know why the wanted pages won't display any more than 1,000 redlinks, (or more specifically, only two pages of 500 each). I know there's way more than that. Last time I checked, (several months ago), there were around 20,000 or so "page" redlinks. (Now that would be a project-and-a-half to take care of!) ~ Jaywin

  • 500 redlinks is the most the software will let you display at once. There is a link on the Wanted Pages page that says "next 500" (or less, if you're viewing less per page) to take you to the next set of redlinks. jSarek 12:50, 7 March 2007 (UTC)
    • Yes, but it won't display any more than two pages of 500 each. The list stops at 1000. ~ Jaywin
