Well, this is actually the month of the barn-burner if we go by the same timespan as we did for the last two. I guess that makes this a little late, but I'm pretty sure December is just as good a month as November. :P Anyway, we should probably come up with a topic soon. Any ideas? MasterFredCommerce Guild.svg(Whatever) 20:16, November 7, 2011 (UTC)

  • That time already, eh? I think December would be better so we have time to plan it out. As for topics, I'm always partial to Battle of Naboo-stuff. Corellian PremierRobotech.jpgAll along the watchtower 21:42, November 7, 2011 (UTC)
    • Like I've suggested before: Everything related to Coruscant. That's a really big topic with many different types of articles that however are related to each other. To be honest, reviewing similar (i.e. Wookiees and weapons) articles multiple times is boring, but with a large topic like my suggestion it could be interesting. :P 1358 (Talk) 21:57, November 7, 2011 (UTC)
      • I was coming here to say that someone suggested Coruscant, which I thought was a great idea. Looks like that person was Xd! --Eyrezer 09:43, November 8, 2011 (UTC)
        • Per Riffsyphon1024, I was wondering if doing a push for Star Wars Galaxies related content might be worthwhile, since we're losing that resource next month. jSarek 10:45, November 8, 2011 (UTC)
          • I think that doing a Galaxies barn burner would be the best idea, but a Coruscant one sounds pretty good as well.--Exiled Jedi Oldrepublic crest.svg (Greetings) 12:27, November 8, 2011 (UTC)
          • I'm leaning toward Coruscant, but we do need to do something about SWG. But, since we're gonna lose that source during the month of the barn burner, I don't know if it's a good choice for this effort. Maybe that should be left for personal projects. I say we go with Ecks. MasterFredCommerce Guild.svg(Whatever) 12:48, November 8, 2011 (UTC)
          • Personally, I don't think that a Galaxies-themed barn-burner would be a good idea. The majority of Wookieepedia editors are not Galaxies players and furthermore, Galaxies shuts is scheduled to shut down on December 15, which would sever our access to Galaxies material half-way through the proposed barn-burner period. While we could rely on third-party websites like SWG Wiki for Galaxies-related information, such websites are not always reliable and this could be problematic. The Coruscant idea is more feasible. --Jinzler 12:59, November 8, 2011 (UTC)
          • Hooray! Another Barn-burner! Well, I've been thinking about Barn-burner 3 for a while now, and my first thought would be a TOR burner, since there are so many sources we could use and it's coming out soon. But, I really don't know if that would work. In the past, we've done item burners rather than source burners. For example, rather than doing a RotS burner, since that has many Wookiees in it, we did a Wookiee burner in general. On that note, I, too, don't think that a Galaxies burner would work. Not everyone has the sources needed and many people don't even like SWG. I like the idea of Coruscant since it appears in many sources and I think pretty much everyone has at least one source that Coruscant appears in. So, unless someone else comes up with a better idea, my vote is for Coruscant for now. One question remains for me, however. Would we do a barn-burner about anything that has anything to do with Coruscant? For example: The Jedi, the buildings, the organizations, the citizens, the droids, etc. And where would the line be drawn? Would we do the Yuuzhan Vong, for example, since they conquered Coruscant? Thoughts on all of this?--Cal JediInfinite Empire.svg (Personal Comm Channel) 15:11, November 8, 2011 (UTC)
            • I think one can use common sense here. Stuff like buildings, battles, organizations and individuals strongly affiliated to Coruscant in some way are obviously within the scope. Yuuzhan Vong probably wouldn't be within the scope, considering they didn't really have any major affiliation with Coruscant other than their conquering... but the battles of Coruscant during the YVW would count. 1358 (Talk) 15:24, November 8, 2011 (UTC)
              • That's what I figured. Thanks for clarifying, Xd. I'm ready for the barn-burner, then. :D --Cal JediInfinite Empire.svg (Personal Comm Channel) 15:26, November 8, 2011 (UTC)
                • I'm going to be obviously biased and support the Galaxies barn burner idea. OLIOSTER (talk) 21:33, November 8, 2011 (UTC)
                  • No reason not to encourage Chack Jadson to finish Yuuzhan Vong! ;) --Eyrezer 09:51, November 9, 2011 (UTC)
                    • To add, think of this barn-burner as a true emergency. We have to burn this barn NAO! -- Riffsyphon1024 08:05, November 10, 2011 (UTC)
                    • This would be a fairly short BB. After a month, unless someone has a pirate server set up, articles are going to have to be reviewed in under a month. Otherwise some objections will be met with, "I dunno. I can't check now that it's gone." SinisterSamurai 15:33, November 10, 2011 (UTC)
                      • This discussion doesn't seem to be going in Galaxies favor anyway, but I just thought I'd drop this here. I know that I was the one who in a former SH post complained about the use of YouTube to check things, but if someone who has access to Galaxies right now could check it for accuracy, we could use it in the future. Even if we don't do a Galaxies burner, I think it would be wise for someone to check this, and all the other sixteen some Galaxies videos in that series, for accuracy. If they are accurate and have not been tampered with, perhaps we can use that to look at in the future when we work on Galaxies articles.--Cal JediInfinite Empire.svg (Personal Comm Channel) 15:40, November 10, 2011 (UTC)
            • A TOR burner would be a bad idea at this point in time, because every TOR article will need drastic updates/rewrites when the game is released. I support the SWG idea. It's a terrible game and a chore to play through for information, but it's gone soon. This is the last chance we are going to get. Besides, the trial is only a few gigs large, and there's plenty of subjects left to cover just from the tutorial portion of the game. --Imperialles 03:39, November 9, 2011 (UTC)
              • If everyone is for it, I wouldn't mind doing a SWG burner. It would also be great for both WP:SWG and WP:VG, too. :D Some people might need to ask for info from people that have Galaxies, however. If others will be willing to share info, I'd be willing to pitch in and bring up some of these boring articles. :P --Cal JediInfinite Empire.svg (Personal Comm Channel) 14:17, November 9, 2011 (UTC)
                • idk how much I'd be able to contribute to a SWG burner simply due to my lack of sources and time. I'd have to do simple, easy, one-source projects, and I don't see how that'll happen if I don't even own a source. MasterFredCommerce Guild.svg(Whatever) 14:24, November 9, 2011 (UTC)
  • I think a video game barn burner is a good idea as well, just think we should limit its scope to articles where the majority of the information is from a Star Wars video game. OLIOSTER (talk) 17:42, November 9, 2011 (UTC)
    • I don't think Barn burners should duplicate WookieeProjects. Afterall, if people want to write articles on those subjects, the Projects already exist to tie the articles together, and bring a community of users together. Barn burners should be different. That would rule out Galaxies, The Old Republic and video game barn burners. --Eyrezer 19:32, November 9, 2011 (UTC)
      • I'm obviously rather partial to the video game idea and I think pretty much everyone has at least one video game that they could use as a source for the burner. So, I'm all for leaving those ideas open. Another idea to think about would be a planet-burner. I'm just throwing out ideas to think on. ;) --Cal JediInfinite Empire.svg (Personal Comm Channel) 19:39, November 9, 2011 (UTC)
        • I kinda agree with Eyrezer on this. 1358 (Talk) 19:47, November 9, 2011 (UTC)
          • With the release of The Phantom Menace' in 3D in February, I would suggest concentrating on TPM related articles so that the articles would be ready to showcase when the film is released in theaters. - Cavalier OneFarStar.svg(Squadron channel) 00:15, November 10, 2011 (UTC)
            • That's a great idea. I support the idea of a TPM barn-burner. Master JonathanJedi Council Chambers Thursday, November 10, 2011, 00:34 UTC
              • I love the TPM idea. Darth Trayus(Trayus Academy) 00:41, November 10, 2011 (UTC)
                • I concur, this is a great idea. OLIOSTER (talk) 01:16, November 10, 2011 (UTC)

                    • Darnit Cav, you just had to snowball things didn't you? ;) -- Riffsyphon1024 08:07, November 10, 2011 (UTC)
                      • Are you an angel, Cav? (Sorry, I just had to :P) I support that idea. 1358 (Talk) 12:57, November 10, 2011 (UTC)
                        • There you go. One person suggests an idea, and all of a sudden the whole Wook is jumping on board! :P Good idea, Cav. There should be some good articles in there. And Jinn could finally finish Qui-Gon. :P --Cal JediInfinite Empire.svg (Personal Comm Channel) 13:51, November 10, 2011 (UTC)
                          • I have a few TPM sources, so I up for it. And I just realized I'll be out for Christmas most of December, so my previous time limits aren't near as bad as I thought. Snowball this, I guess. MasterFredCommerce Guild.svg(Whatever) 16:51, November 10, 2011 (UTC)
  • At first, I was going to suggest scoundrels (Tyber Zann, for example). I then realized that'd be a bit too limited. So instead, I propose Underworld. That frees up the organizations (Zann Consortium), ships (The Merciless), weapons (Rawk chopped special), and even thefts/missions/battles (Theft on Coruscant), and probably more. SinisterSamurai 03:43, November 10, 2011 (UTC)
    • I also support this idea... one day. -- Riffsyphon1024 08:07, November 10, 2011 (UTC)
      • I'm in favor of TPM-themed barn-burner as well. Although don't even expect to see Qui-Gon on the FAN page. Probably for another year. Or two :P QuiGonJinn Senate seal.svg(Talk) 17:55, November 10, 2011 (UTC)

  • So, is there any objections to a The Phantom Menace-burner? If not, we should probably move on to the next step. December is creeping up on us and will be here quicker than we realize.--Cal JediInfinite Empire.svg (Personal Comm Channel) 16:12, November 11, 2011 (UTC)
    • I'd say its time to move on. The snowball above is pretty clear to me. Master JonathanJedi Council Chambers Friday, November 11, 2011, 16:32 UTC
      • Any volunteers for who wants to jump on the band-wagon and lead this snowball?--Cal JediInfinite Empire.svg (Personal Comm Channel) 16:53, November 11, 2011 (UTC)
        • I might be able to lead this one. I'll start working on the forum in my userspace and just make the forum toward the end of this month. MasterFredCommerce Guild.svg(Whatever) 17:28, November 11, 2011 (UTC)
          • Sounds good to me. Any objections to Fred leading WookieeProject The Phantom Menace: Wookieepedia's third barn-burner?--Cal JediInfinite Empire.svg (Personal Comm Channel) 17:34, November 11, 2011 (UTC)
            • None here. Go for it! Master JonathanJedi Council Chambers Friday, November 11, 2011, 17:36 UTC
              • Oooooh. My vacation won't be over until the end of January, but I'll be spending at least a week in December relaxing on a beach. I might be able to contribute Graxol Kelvyyn after all. Menkooroo 11:21, November 12, 2011 (UTC)
                • omg I just realized that I can do OOU music articles for this barn-burner!!!! MasterFredCommerce Guild.svg(Whatever) 15:09, November 12, 2011 (UTC)
                  • This concept has my dark blessings. -- Riffsyphon1024 21:50, November 12, 2011 (UTC)

Range?Edit

Let's figure out a loose definition of "TPM-related articles." Anything appearing in/mentioned in the film or any of its adaptations and tie-ins? Any OOU articles related to the film, eg Liam Neeson or Droid Invasion Theme? Sound good? The looser the definition the better. :D

TPM had a crapload of tie-in material, and writing an article from, say, Episode I Adventures 5: The Ghostling Children would allow one to avoid checking through visual dictionaries and stuff. With that said, let's all be bold and write articles on things from the film itself! We'll need to help each other out when it comes to checking through materials such as Star Wars: Episode I Insider's Guide and Episode I: The Visual Dictionary.

If you are going to write something from the film, always be wary of the completeness of the article's current "Sources" section. Before I wrote Weazel, there were only three items in his "Sources" section. After a few weeks of good-ol'-fashioned hunting, I had it beefed up to thirteen.

Don't let that discourage you, though --- if we're all helping each other out, the hunting should be a piece of cake. Bob's adaptations list is a good navigational guide, as are the "Sources" sections on articles such as Weazel and Sei Taria. Every CCG card ever can be found here. Action figures can be found at rebelscum.com, specifically here. Bob and I (mostly Bob) were able to severely beef up the "Sources" sections for Lachichuk and Guanta two barn-burners ago; writing an article on something from Episode I shouldn't be any more difficult. And Lachichuk was one of the most fun projects I've ever done.

This is shaping up to be a really fun barn-burner. Cheers to Cav for the suggestion and Fred for volunteering to lead it. Everyone pumped? Menkooroo 09:48, November 13, 2011 (UTC)

Don't forget the PS1 video game either, there's a lot of information hidden away in there. Anyway, my exams finish on November the 30th and my medical problems are controlled, so I think TPM seems like an appropriate topic for me to re-enter the site with. Before and After templatesEdit

So, as I was fixing up the soon-to-be barn-burner forum page, I came across the templates which list the articles that were at status level before and after the project. How should I go about listing the articles which reached status prior to this BB? Are we gonna go with every article from any TPM source, no matter how many other sources it may have? If so, what would be the best way of finding all these articles? MasterFredCommerce Guild.svg(Whatever) 17:25, November 15, 2011 (UTC)

  • My vote would be for anything that had its first appearance in TPM film. ~SavageBOB sig.png 18:27, November 15, 2011 (UTC)

Darth MaulEdit

This kind of goes in conjunction with my proposal to have an improvement drive for main characters' articles... but if we tackle TPM, naturally we would need to tackle Maul's article, since many will probably be visiting the article since he's the focal point of the rerelease's marketing campaign. It could also do us good to get the article organized in preparation for the continuity rape that will be his resurrection in the tv series. So... should we start planning this? DjMack 04:28, November 19, 2011 (UTC)

  • Should we start planning the continuity rape? I think Failoni already has that taken care of. :P Seriously, I'm afraid I won't be able to. I'm gonna be way too busy in December to do anything too major.--Cal JediInfinite Empire.svg (Personal Comm Channel) 04:31, November 19, 2011 (UTC)
