Hi there,
I managed to get in touch with John Jackson Miller via email over some topics within the Star Wars: Knight Errant series and the novel. It was over some small details that needed verification. I have reproduced some excerpts relating to the appropriate topics:
Me: >>Firstly, there's the Correctors from the Knight Errant novel and comics. The Knight Errant novel makes references to the Daimanate having several red-clad Sith adepts known as Correctors. In the Knight Errant comics, Daiman's forces are shown to have several red-armoured elite soldiers. Are these red-armoured soldiers the same organization as the Correctors or are they a separate organization entirely?
Miller: They're a separate organization. The Correctors are more intended to be like Jedi or priests, rather than soldiers.
Me: >>Within the Knight Errant franchise, the various Sith states like the Daimanate and Odionate are shown to have armored Sith troopers. They are never given an official canonical name throughout the comics. At present, we on Wookieepedia have dubbed them "Daimanate Sith troopers" and "Odionate Sith troopers" respectively? Are these titles correct?
Miller: If we didn't name them on the page, they have no name. So that convention is fine.
Me: >> In the comics, the Daimanate also has several starfighters but they have never been given a canonical name. Is it allright that we just call them "Daimanate starfighters"?
Miller: Yes, same answer. One of the elements that we played with some was that some ships and armor types tend to turn up on all sides — because they keep stealing each other's slaves and weapons. But we never elaborated on it too much.
Me: I've gotten a short question here concerning Daiman's flagship Era Daimanos. It first appears in the Knight Errant novel prior to the Battle of Gazzari. In Star Wars: Knight Errant: Escape 5, a large warship belonging to Daiman is shown at the exposition when he contacts his grandmother Matriarch Vilia Calimondra to inform her of the threat posed by Odion and the Helm of Ieldis. Was that vessel the Era Daimanos by the way?
Miller: Yes, that is intended to be Era Daimanos.
How do we cite email conversations as sources? This information is not explicitly stated in the comics or the novels but its merely implied. The information is out there but verification was needed to link or de-link the information. Andykatib 01:05, 29th December 2012 (UTC)
- The best way to cite emails is to take a screenshot of the email as proof, black out any personal information (email addresses, your real name, etc.), and upload it to Wookieepedia, then reference the information to the image. An example of this can be seen here: File:KMillerEmail4.png. —MJ— Training Room 01:17, December 29, 2012 (UTC)
- Thanks, will do it later. Andykatib 01:33, December 29, 2012 (UTC)
