Was hitting up the random article link and came across the 23 Mere system. I noticed the references and sources both have:
The first links to the wookiee page, the second directly to the site, which is also located on the wookiee page. Now since they're both essentially the same thing, i figure that one of them should be removed, rather then link twice to the same thing. So which, if either, should be deleted? And if they both stay, why?
Hey there. The latter link is the correct one --- it's a newer template that, as you said, links directly to sw.com. Any instance of the former link that you find should be changed to the latter. Menkooroo (talk) 12:14, November 17, 2013 (UTC)
awesome thanks, i might go through and check those listings when i can :) Manoof (talk) 23:57, November 17, 2013 (UTC)
This uses the template intended for live pages on sw.com (eliminating the "content now obsolete" warning), but also provides an internal link to our article on the subject, which is preferred. —MJ—War Room 00:02, November 18, 2013 (UTC)
Thanks MJ I'll fix it using that then :) Manoof (talk) 06:03, November 18, 2013 (UTC)
Just to clarify, a soft link (just Star Wars: The Essential Atlas Online Companion) is not to be used at all unless it is in-line in the article (so sources and references should both have the above template) This only just occurred to me now. Manoof (talk) 07:01, February 17, 2014 (UTC)
