For characters, species, etc. that originally appeared in Legends sources but later were adopted by canon sources as well, wouldn't it make sense to specify the latter appearances on Canon pages as "First canon appearance" rather than simply "First appearance" (and with a note in the BtS section that they originally appeared in non-canon sources)? - Not really. As a canon page, everything is referring to canon. The Legends info is irrelevant outside of the behind the scenes section and shouldn't be factored into the appearance list. - Brandon Rhea(talk) 05:00, October 29, 2014 (UTC)
- I think it would still be useful information to learn at a glance whether a given person/species etc. actually first appeared in a given source or whether they had appeared before in a non-canon source. "First canon appearance" isn't much of a change and doesn't directly refer to Legends material, but can still be useful. Besides, casual readers might be confused if there are two different "first appearances" for a given item. JagoAndLitefoot (talk) 05:07, October 29, 2014 (UTC)
- If they first appeared in a Legends source, that information can go into the behind the scenes section. - Brandon Rhea(talk) 05:08, October 29, 2014 (UTC)
- Is the note I added to Kosh/Canon OK? JagoAndLitefoot (talk) 05:57, October 29, 2014 (UTC)
- Looks reasonably alright to me. I probably would have worded it something like this: "Kosh's character originated as from Heroes in Hiding, a 1996 children's pop-up book in which he was depicted as an officer in charge of a search for the droids R2-D2 and C-3PO. While this title is now part of the continuity of Star Wars Legends and no longer considered canon, along with other past appearances of the character, Kosh was used as an officer of the Galactic Empire in Star Wars: Commander.
