In the latest issue of Empire magazine, there is a map of the galaxy showing the location of some planets in the galaxy. Most of them are old, however there a few news ones which will be appearing in The Force Awakens, such as Jakku and D'Qar (there's also a planet we've heard nothing about thus far, called Hosnian Prime). The map uses the canon name for Korriban (Moraband) as well. There is, however, one planet that hasn't been made canon in anything else thus far: Rakata Prime.
Can this map be considered canon? It has material from The Force Awakens on it, and as far as I can tell nothing in it conflicts with current canon. Rakata Prime does appear on the map, however that could have easily been made canon in any other source, so that alone should not be the deciding reason that this map is noncanonical. There is absolutely no reason to doubt the canoncity of that map. Pablo Hidalgo has stated that it was made for the upcoming TFA visual dictionary. If Rakata Prime is there, it must be for a reason (although we don't know that reason... yet). --LelalMekha (talk) 16:06, November 27, 2015 (UTC)
Glad to hear it! In that case, how should we go about adding information from it for now? Should we cite the visual dictionary, the image link, or just have a reference note saying it's from the latest Empire issue? Cevan(talk) 16:28, November 27, 2015 (UTC)
I would use a reference note that includes the Empire information and the image link. I would also upload the image directly to Wookieepedia (and add it to a page somewhere so it's not listed as unused) and use that as the link, rather than Imgur. We can't cite the TFA Visual Dictionary because it hasn't been released yet. - Brandon Rhea(talk) 17:30, November 27, 2015 (UTC)
All right, I've uploaded the picture (link). Is there a specific page I can place it on so it isn't marked as unused? Cevan(talk) 17:59, November 27, 2015 (UTC)
Can't it just be tagged as "Notorphan" for now? ProfessorTofty (talk) 04:13, November 28, 2015 (UTC)
