Our current process for creating a NuCanon page and shifting a Legends page is rather inefficient when done repeatedly for single pages, so we're going to change this. The AbuseFilter blocking the creation of /Canon pages has been disabled, and this is now the process:
- A user creates a NuCanon version of an article at Article Name/Canon.
- This new page is automatically added by {{Eras}} to a maintenance category that will be regularly checked for pages.
- An admin will perform the Legends/Canon page switch in batches, and bots will do the link fixes in batches as well.
This way, we don't have bots running single-change fixes for every new Canon page created, as that is inefficient and clogs up edit histories with repeated bot edits. Cade Calrayn 19:43, February 2, 2016 (UTC)
- Thank you! I think this is going to solve a lot of problems. ProfessorTofty (talk) 20:32, February 3, 2016 (UTC)
- Great change, it was getting difficult to create canon articles for subjects that were well established in Legends. - AV-6R7Crew Pit 20:56, February 3, 2016 (UTC)
- I would assume this also means that when linking to pages on canon articles that haven't yet been created for canon but which do have a Legends page, we should continue to append /Canon in the link? ProfessorTofty (talk) 21:06, February 3, 2016 (UTC)
