Hey, all. I've watched through Deception, the most recent episode of Star Wars: The Clone Wars to get info to update the Lutrillian article. I noted when Lutrillian characters played some role in the story or came on screen, and, at first, I thought that the prison jumpsuit numbers on the backs of the characters would be a good way to identify them and even give individual articles to some of them. However, as I paid closer attention, I noticed that the numbers are not unique to any one specific individual (in both the case of the Lutrillians and other prisoners). For instance, in one scene, where Obi-Wan is eating at his table alone, you can see two Lutrillian prisoners in the background, each with the number 373 on their backs.
So, my question is this: since the prison jumpsuits can't be used to identify the individual Lutrillian prisoners, how should I determine which ones to give an article to? I'd rather not make an article for every single Lutrillian that appears on screen, since it's easily 20 or more. But some of them probably merit individual articles, based on having a speaking role or playing some part in the action. Should I concentrate on this latter category? And if so, should I just assume that each time a Lutrillian does something significant on screen, he's a new character, despite the fact that he may share a prison number with another guy who appeared earlier? This will net about six different articles, I estimate. Thoughts? ~Savage 23:18, January 21, 2012 (UTC)
- Do you know if they're voiced by different people? I would think that the single most distinguishing (and therefore article-meriting) trait would be speaking role, and if there are more than one voice actors playing them, then that's an easy distinguishing trait. As for the prison number, I never really noticed that. Good catch. Kinda lazy on LFL's part. Taral, Dark Lord of the Sith -Just shy, not antisocial: You can talk to me!- 13:47, January 23, 2012 (UTC)
- Good point. Lutrillians speak four times, though it's impossible to determine who voiced them all from the credits. The four speaking roles have at least three different accents, though, so that might be a clue: Generic American, English, and Brooklyn are at least present. I'll pay a bit closer attention later today and rewatch the scenes. But, yeah, just a warning to other editors that the prison numbers are little help here. They apparently made two Lutrillian models and just duplicated them over and over; the same probably holds true for the Trandoshans, Rodians, etc. running around. ~Savage 14:00, January 23, 2012 (UTC)
