Recently, the Official StarWars.com Blog underwent some restructuring following the September 2011 revamp of the official site. Since then, it's become much more active and a more reliable source for (new) information.
As some of you might be aware, Leland Chee contributed to a new timeline of The Clone Wars series for Star Wars: The Ultimate Visual Guide: Updated and Expanded (April 2012), and since then he's begun a follow-up series on the Official Blog to tie up loose ends with the complete timeline. In general, we've been treating blog entries as "External links" when listing them on mainspace articles, but Chee's new series got me thinking that we might need to reconsider them as "Sources," in terms of the Layout Guide at least. I'm referring to specifically Chee's TCW chronology posts ("Chronicling The Clone Wars"), which are far more canon-based than any blog entries have been in the past. Each entry posts a summary of the mentioned episodes and then presents Chee's timeline notes. The series' overall episode order gets reposed each time and grows with each entry.
I wanted to get a general consensus from the site community, or at least begin some discussion about the topic, to treat Chee's TCW blog posts as Sources. We wouldn't need an amendment to current policy to "recategorize" them as Sources, as the Layout Guide already refers to "StarWars.com articles" as Sources. (We could amend the Layout Guide to add "certain Official Blog posts" or something similar to the list of example Sources, but seeing as it's only Chee's entries that are this canon-based, it seems unnecessary.) - Sounds like a good idea. The "External links" section of the LG lists Star Wars blogs as an example; even though it's referring to the old blog system, some re-wording would probably be good to avoid confusion (and also as an update in general to reflect the new sw.com blog system).
