On June 3, 2011, the grand reopening ceremony for Star Tours included a performance that was described here in great length. Although the tone of the skit itself is rather comical—a Jedi and a Stormtrooper fighting over a Star Tours shuttle seat—it features a Jedi Master, Jar'Kai, a confrontation with Darth Vader, and a name for the otherwise unidentified Star Tours safety spokesperson, which, in normal circumstances, would be enough material to be notable. Now, I realize there are problems with using this ; besides the aforementioned comedic aspect, those Star Tours events always mix in-universe and out-of-universe aspects—the biggest problem with this opening ceremony is that the mysterious Jedi is none other than Walt Disney Parks & Resorts Chairman Tom Staggs. Then again, promotional skits like that allow us to have good-looking articles like Bree Starlighter. My question is: do you think we can use this or not? Shall we rename "Unidentified Star Tours safety spokesperson" to "Angela?" Shall we add information about the mysterious Jar'Kai practicioner, the incident and so on? --Lelal Mekha (Audience Room) 12:15, April 4, 2014 (UTC)
- I'd say this isn't much different to how we use Star Tours sources in other articles today. My take is: make use of the in-universe elements, avoid talking about the OOU stuff and try to make a coherent article. This may be the foggiest canon window, but it's still a window. - I'd say this stuff can be included the same way as this Star Tours Flight 6311 page is done. Mark it non-canon or ambiguously canon, and just specify the details in the Behind the scenes section (as I did in that article). Disney World in Florida also had their own opening ceremony, which included some things that should definitely not be canon, but can still be cataloged. --JMM (talk) 00:15, April 14, 2014 (UTC)
