So Jimmy Wales (yeah, the guy from all those annoying WE WANT MONEY banner ads on Wikipedia) announced today that Wikipedia will be shut down on Wednesday as a protest against SOPA.

Does anyone know if the Wikia sites will be following suit?

Wales may be a co-founder of Wikia, Inc., but it is still a separate entity from the Wikimedia Foundation. - Esjs^(Talk) 17:55, January 17, 2012 (UTC)

    • PIPA, the senate counterpart, is still alive. For what it's worth, Wikia has given green light for blacking out Wikia wikis if they feel like doing it. 1358 ^(Talk) 16:26, January 17, 2012 (UTC)
