The changes made to Wikia are detrimental to every wiki hosted here. The advertisements be they in-line or pop-up slow everything down and put users at risk. I think it may be time to pull up and move like TFwiki did. ZeldaTheSwordsman 21:56, December 20, 2011 (UTC)

I agree with the sentiment, but it just won't work in practice IMO. Wikia is a terrible host--making (bad) unilateral decisions that affect thousands and thousands of users, and choking out their sites with advertisements.

It would be NICE if the Wiki model could be moved en masse offsite to our own domain, but I can't imagine the cost (in both man-hours and in bandwidth bills) would be worth the effort. DigiFluid 19:42, December 29, 2011 (UTC)

      • A wiki with no community is not a wiki: if everyone leaves Wikia behavior wouldn't be a problem. Anyway that was just a thought, I will refrain from intervening in Wikia-related talk from now because I have a biasTrazeris
