My recent edits to Xilxash, Pamorjal, Vorrnti are the subject of some controversy by a couple of users. My motivation for the edits is that neither the Atlas or Online companion explicitly state that said planets reside in the similarly named systems. And therefore the attributed citation is in fact wrong. While I don't dispute the logic that, for example, the planet Xilxash most likely resides in the Xilxash system, I do dispute that it is cited as being established in the online companion.
One user asserts that:
"The Atlas' systems are named after the planets. This is clear in both endnotes and the actual book"
Unfortunately I can not find any evidence to support this. Is anyone able to shed some light on this? Are planets that have not been assigned a system in a published source simply assumed to reside in a system of the same name? Rokkur Shen (talk) 10:57, January 24, 2013 (UTC)
Yes. Jason Fry's intention behind having system names that matched pre-existing planet names was to be able to cement where the planets were. This is why some systems have a pre-existing name and a name from a planet within it, because he couldn't find the pre-existing name. NaruHinaTalk 22:08, January 24, 2013 (UTC)
Thanks Naru, do you happen to know where this was stated? If I can confirm this standpoint I think the atlas article would benefit greatly from this assertion and will lead to a more clear cut method for dealing with planet and system citations in infoboxes. I appreciate you contacting Jason Fry, however his response still seems rather vague, leading to some system names being an exception to the rule. We need something more concrete for referencing planet/planet system attribution within infoboxes for where the planet/planet system has not been mentioned in any canon source, no?
