I notice that Wookieepedia will soon have half a million fifty thousand "proper articles" (Woo-hoo!). My question is are we doing anything to celebrate this and, if not, should we be thinking about it? I say this now so that we have time to prepare if we are doing something. Let's have a wookieeparty!--Windu223 19:33, 4 June 2007 (UTC)

  • Half a million is 500,000. -Solus (Bird of Prey) 19:38, 4 June 2007 (UTC)
    • Oh, now it's technical. I'll change it (I'm an idiot :-D). Darth Seth (Chewbacca lives!) 19:49, 4 June 2007 (UTC)
      • Half a hundred thousand, then. YAAAYY! Enochf 20:46, 4 June 2007 (UTC)
        • I was just gonna put it in the news section of the main page. Or I guess we could have a press release type thing. Wikipedia had one when they got their Millionth article Either way, we probably won't get our 50,000th article for at least a month.-LtNOWIS 14:09, 5 June 2007 (UTC)
          • That gives us just enough time to do something like this. Darth Seth (Imperial Lieutenant) 15:00, 5 June 2007 (UTC)
            • That's actually not a terrible idea. --School of Thrawn 101 04:23, 7 June 2007 (UTC)
              • Thanks. Darth Seth (Imperial Lieutenant) 14:47, 7 June 2007 (UTC)
                • Yeah, why not? Let's just hope that the 50,000th article isn't as obscure as a railway station in Scotland. :-) Unit 8311 07:14, 7 June 2007 (UTC)
                  • It will be, trust me. Darth Seth (Imperial Lieutenant) 17:09, 8 June 2007 (UTC)
                    • It certainly will be, if I have anything to do with it. ;-) -- Ozzel 19:46, 8 June 2007 (UTC)
                      • You know the new article will be obscure, the odds are tremendously higher. Regarding the pool of sorts, I think it could be fun. A "Wookieeparty" could potentially be interesting, if we had a means of "partying." Jedi Master Fiolli 20:55, 13 June 2007 (UTC)
  • Hmm. We could bring out the Twi'lek dancing girls. bibliomaniac15 23:07, 13 June 2007 (UTC)
    • Sounds awful hard to predict. Articles around here are not just created; they're deleted and merged, too. So the 50,000th article might well be vandalism or one of those articles written in all lowercase with a misspelled title. Enochf 23:18, 13 June 2007 (UTC)
  • Only roughly 800 to go! -- Riffsyphon1024 10:37, 16 June 2007 (UTC)
    • Well, we're just over 500 away. Are we gonna start taking bets on when we'll hit 50k? -- Ozzel 02:15, 24 June 2007 (UTC)
      • I'm assuming an admin'll have to make the page. If not I'll make it (in the style of Wikipedia's) either tomorrow or the day after. Watch this space! Darth Seth (Imperial Commander) 20:20, 24 June 2007 (UTC)
        • Similar to what I did for our C-IV table proposal, I'll write up a press release we can forward to Wikia or whoever, etc. and post it here. Atarumaster88 Jedi Order (Talk page) 14:26, 25 June 2007 (UTC)
  • I predict we'll hit 50,000 on July 8th. -- Riffsyphon1024 15:27, 25 June 2007 (UTC)
    • I propose that we have some sort of award/prize for the author for the 50,000th page (as long as they're not a vandal, of course). Unit 8311 15:32, 25 June 2007 (UTC)
      • A T-shirt! :-P Atarumaster88 Jedi Order (Talk page) 15:51, 25 June 2007 (UTC)
        • That's not actually a bad idea. Why not have 'I MADE THE 50,000TH ARTICLE ON WOOKIEEPEDIA' printed on it in big black letters as to embarass anyone who wears it in the street? :-) Unit 8311 15:59, 25 June 2007 (UTC)
          • I love that idea Unit 8311. Seriously though, perhaps like a special Wookiee-Cookiee. Chack Jadson 16:07, 25 June 2007 (UTC)
            • Yeah...in fact, maybe we could have an award for the author of every 10,000th article...Unit 8311 16:20, 25 June 2007 (UTC)
  • The poll is here. Would it be too much to ask for it to be put in the message bar at the top, or is it not important enough? By the way, I think we should make the 100,000 pool now so we have plenty of time next time.Darth Seth (Imperial Commander) 18:30, 25 June 2007 (UTC)
