I have an issue with Adas's Lightsaber. Under his items it says he has one however he died at 27,000 bby and the lightsaber was not invented till 15,500 bby. there are thousands of years difference but every time i tried to change it either to Rakata's forcesaber or delete it it came back.
This is because Book of Sith recently retconned a lightsaber-wielding darksider from the comic Tales of the Jedi 5: The Saga of Nomi Sunrider, Part 3 as being Adas, which you would have known if you had read the Adas article's "Behind the scenes" section. We cannot assume that it was a Rakatan Forcesaber, because that would be speculation. However, if you know of an official source that states that lightsabers were not around at that time, we can mention the contradiction in the article. --Jinzler 14:35, March 19, 2012 (UTC)
I know that and have read it. the point is that this sight has the creation story of sabers on it with every reference. If you want my proof just look up lightsabers under here. that was also a picture. As it is cannon that Darth Bane never had a purple lightsaber and yet every other picture of him has one I don't hold that cannon so i don't see why this should stand either. He also died fighting off the Rakata and it states they traded technology before forcing them off the planet. Therefor in logic it would be a forcesaber. Not to mention once the Lightsaber was first created (by the jedi)It had a cord to the saber hilt because they couldnt make small enough energy packs. so the technology in Adas's saber hilt is even beyond that.
I understand your loguc, but we still cannot assume that it is a Forcesaber, because that is speculation until an official source states otherwise; please take a look at Wookieepedia's canon policy. As I have already stated, we can mention this contradiction in the BTS if you know of a particular source that states that lightsabers were not created until after Adas' reign. --Jinzler 14:57, March 19, 2012 (UTC)
Then if that is the choice and no one is looking to edit Adas's saber the article under lightsabers needs to be edited saying that a weaponmaster of the jedi did not create the first blade and that Adas was the first known and the creation of a saber didnt happen in 15,500 bby durring the forcewars. If what you say is true (and im not trying to attack you personally ) then the following info on this sight needs changing.
Firstly, please sign your posts with four tildes like so: ~~~~. Secondly, this wiki does not create canon, nor does it interpret it. We merely report it and organise it. If Adas is shown as wielding a lightsaber, then we say he had one but we note the inconsistencies in the BTS. If another source says that they were not created until thousands of years later, then we report that and note the inconsistency there as well. We do not say that lightsabers were created in X year unless a specific canon source says it. Adas' weapon may very well turn out to be a forcesaber, but until a source specifically says so, then it is speculation to mention it in any other place than the article BTS. - Cavalier One(Squadron channel) 15:21, March 19, 2012 (UTC)
I agree and see your point. All I'm saying is its just a picture. It could just as easily be a forcesaber. We just call it such because we don't know any better. I think its wise Jinzler to have a BTS and it helps its just on this sight I have seen other things stating that stuff isn't quite cannon yet due to not enough info. I guess I'm confused as to how it became such. The list is fine all I'm saying is that if anyone (like me who is running a game based on this time) is looking for facts they are going to run into a wall here. I'm only trying to help and I get that things are not going to change until more stuff is revealed down the road. Maybe Dawn of the Force comics will finnish my point in the creation story of the jedi but till then I'm sorry I seemed to have angered people. Kaven Ordin 15:34, March 19, 2012 (UTC)
I doubt you've angered anyone. We're just very careful about how we present information since we don't want to be seen to draw assumptions of mislead anyone. - Cavalier One(Squadron channel) 16:02, March 19, 2012 (UTC)
