Given that Legacy of the Force: Betrayal isn't supposed to be released until May 30, where are we getting all this info? Some of it sounds pretty outlandish, and until I see it confirmed by the book itself, I may end up deleting it thinking it's fanon. -- Darth Culator 19:05, 20 May 2006 (UTC)

  • Wait until release, say I, unless it's information from the previews the offical site has released. Further, the old spoiler tag should be used again.—Silly Dan (talk) 19:10, 20 May 2006 (UTC)
  • It's from someone at NJOE who got the book early. He proved it by scanning in pages. Kuralyov 19:14, 20 May 2006 (UTC)
  • its been proven thanks, so can we have the pages that some of us put work into restored rather than just being out right deleted because people belive its fano and havn;t checked its facts. Jedi Dude
    • Indigo.ca in Canada shipped the book early, and one of my fellow countrymen got ahold of the book early (I'm getting mine on Tuesday). StarNeptuneTalk to me! 19:30, 20 May 2006 (UTC)
  • The only scanned page I can find at NJOE doesn't have anything about Lumiya or "Darth Vectivus." This honestly sounds worse than anything SuperShadow ever spewed, and I'd like to see proof of it. If this book really is going to destroy all faith I ever had in Aaron Allston, I'd like an explicit warning now. -- Darth Culator 19:39, 20 May 2006 (UTC)
  • well till its proved or w/e can be ut it under unproved or sumthin..don't just deltete it though. cos ppl put work into it. (im also gettin a copy this week=])

  • A, learn to write using grammar, B, I agree that it gives SuperShadow a good name, C, even if it is correct we can revert AFTER the book comes out, and I'm getting irritated enough to start deleting things myself. Unsigned comment by 71.198.41.251 (talk • contribs).
    • At the very least, there MUST be spoilers warnings put up. I don't know if it is true or not, but either way I am annoyed that I may have been spoiled without a choice about it. This is not fair. --Eyrezer 02:20, 21 May 2006 (UTC)
  • From the sound of things, it seems like a knock-off of ROTS-plotpoints. Man, am I glad I stopped reading post-ROTJ stories. ;P VT-16 19:16, 21 May 2006 (UTC)
  • That "Nelani trying to arrest Lumiya only to be killed by Jacen" does sound rather familiar. -- SFH 00:51, 22 May 2006 (UTC)

Can we please get spoiler warnings on this information? Please?? I don't want to be totally spoiled myself and read the passage in order to figure out where the spoiler tag should go. - Breathesgelatin 01:32, 22 May 2006 (UTC)

  • I think we had a policy on putting spoiler tags on info from soon-to-be-released or recently released sources. I put them on Jacen Solo, Lumiya and Vergere. - Sikon [Talk] 09:36, 22 May 2006 (UTC)
    • The problem is, at least with the Vergere article, is that the info is dispersed throught the enitre article, neccesitating the use of of those tags at least three or more times. However, currently only one set is there, and reading the Yuuzhan Vong section does have a big spoiler in it with no tag. If I didn't already know about it, I would of had a huge plot point spoiled for me. My take is: If you're going to use the tags, bundle all of the spoilers up together then use the tags to contain them in a seprerate section of the article. StarNeptuneTalk to me! 17:56, 22 May 2006 (UTC)

My suggestionEdit

  • I suggest we have a new tag, named {{majorspoiler}}, which appears at the TOP of spoiler heavy articles, alerting a user when they first open an article to the presence of major spoilers. (At least until the book's been released for a while). Additionally, we should have a "List of current spoilers" page or something, linked from the first page, that lists all the pages which spoiler-free people might like to avoid. QuentinGeorge 06:13, 23 May 2006 (UTC)
    • In the case of redirects spoiling the surprise of some of the aliases within the book, I borrowed the "soft redirect" approach from Wikipedia so it doesn't immediately spoil it and give the viewer the option to click on another link if he/she wants to be spoiled. StarNeptuneTalk to me! 07:24, 23 May 2006 (UTC)
  • that major spoiler thing is a really good idea....Jedi Dude
  • Heh, I love this template. - Sikon [Talk] 11:34, 23 May 2006 (UTC)
  • Thumbs up! KEJ 11:36, 23 May 2006 (UTC)
  • Hurrah! Good solution as it allows our articles to be updated but provides an extra reminder about spoilers for people (especially in cases like this where the material may not even be released yet. - Breathesgelatin 13:44, 23 May 2006 (UTC)
  • What constitutes a major spoiler is a little subjective, but clearly lots of the stuff in Betrayal qualifies. We should continue to use the old tags as well, for less major stuff. -LtNOWIS 22:10, 23 May 2006 (UTC)
    • Good solution people. --Eyrezer 00:55, 24 May 2006 (UTC)
