Forums > Senate Hall archive > SH Archive/Arc vs issue in Appearances

Currently, it's policy to list only a comic arc under Appearances if the article subject appears in (IIRC) two or more issues of that arc. I can't seem to find a Consensus track thread for this issue, so I thought I'd bring it up here.

Why is this policy? Surely we should go into as much detail as possible here, and include specific appearances for articles, not just a vague listing of the entire arc. Current comic arcs are at least 6 issues long, so surely it's better to list specific issues - unless the subject appears in every issue of that arc? - Kwenn 18:45, 28 June 2006 (UTC)

  • I agree. I think we should change. Kuralyov 17:31, 29 June 2006 (UTC)
    • Additionally, we have additional Clone Wars Chapters listed, even for articles that appear in almost all episodes - Kwenn 17:43, 29 June 2006 (UTC)
      • I think our policy makes sense. To me, comic issues are like chapters of a book. We are citing the story, not the section of a story. -- Ozzel 18:11, 1 July 2006 (UTC)
        • So then surely Luke Skywalker should be listed as appearing in "The Star Wars Saga", since each Episode is only one of six chapters that make up the story, no? Or maybe Corran Horn was introduced in "The X-wing Series", as opposed to its "first chapter," Rogue Squadron? - Kwenn 17:04, 2 July 2006 (UTC)

            • As I said before, I think we should go into as much detail as possible. Remember, this is a source of reference for people; they'll want to know exactly where subjects appear in the saga - Kwenn 17:12, 2 July 2006 (UTC)
